Meet Kristine Payaslyan and Arthur Khatchatrian of Kensington and Chelsea Studios in Santa Clarita Valley

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Payaslyan and Arthur Khatchatrian.

Kristine and Arthur, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Ever since I was young, I always wanted to be a graphic designer. I had a passion for turning ideas and concepts into art. In 2008, my cousin asked me to help her create her wedding invitation, with my graphic design background, I decided why not let’s give it a shot. I enjoyed the whole process from concept to creation, but most of all, I loved the look on my cousin’s face when she saw the final product. I knew from that moment, this is what I wanted to do.

Arthur loves being behind the camera. I remember when we go on a family vacations. We constantly had to stop just so he can take a picture. He would take a picture of anything and everything. He sees the world differently, he believes that even a rusty nail sticking out of the wood is beautiful. Mostly, Arthur believes that pictures tell a story and he loves to capture the emotions of everyone he photographs.

We decided to combine both our passions and create Kensington and Chelsea, a full-service photography and invitation company for any and all occasions.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Kensington and Chelsea was started during the time when competition is high; there are so many different event photographers and companies that create invitations. With any business, we knew that the beginning there is always going to be challenges, our biggest struggle is trying to get out name out there and growing our cliental base. Nowadays, we rely mainly on word of mouth and social media, so we hope our work speaks for itself.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Kensington and Chelsea Studios – what should we know?
Kensington and Chelsea is a full-service photography and invitation company; in our photography department we specialize in events, family portraits, toddler/kid sessions and product photography, however, we try not to limit ourselves to those categories, we love to try new photoshoots.

In our invitation department we design, print and assemble all invitations, so our clients don’t have to worry about anything. With over 200 colors and patterns and over 100 shapes and sizes, we can create the invitation of our clients dreams to perfectly match their event. We offer digital printing, letterpress, foil stamping, thermography and emboss/deboss.

At Kensington and Chelsea studios, we understand during any event planning our clients have a great deal on their minds and a to-do list a mile long. We want to be a one-stop shop, where they come to us and they get their invitations and event photography marked off their to do list.
