Today we’d like to introduce you to Kolby Daniels.
Kolby, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my online startup in the 7th grade at the age of 12. After wanting something of my own, and I’ve always wanted cool shirts to match my Jordan’s. I thought why not start a T-shirt line where I make my own Designs with matching colors, and etc.
I’d spend day in and day out teaching myself the game of business and all the background stuff you’d never realize from: Manufactures in other countries, bulk orders, and the LEGAL Stuff. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I also didn’t prepare myself to live an easy life. I often never really got far with anything I ever did as a child. My parent’s main focus for me was always school, school, school. But when you’re a kid who felt ahead of the game all the time. I felt bored 9/10 just due to being ready for more. It took for me to go out and make my own money to put back in business.
I sacrificed my whole summer before senior year to make sure I did what I had to do. I had a 9-5 job that I hate and soon will be quitting to go full-time CEO. With all that being said and even with a nonstop changing market I managed to always stay true to my desires as not only an Entrepreneur but an Aspiring Public Figure, artist, and Life coach. I have a lot on my plate, and won’t stop until my kids follow in my footsteps.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It wasn’t always and still isn’t smooth. I was once a 13 years old kid wanting to run a business in a world full of small-minded beings not enthused enough in their selves to take their life next level. As I’m still only 18, I have a lot to get done before I even think about chilling. The game doesn’t get harder it just gets more challenging!
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I started off a just a small T – shirt company and as I’m constantly expanding. I have cut everything down for my Official Release with My Velvet Durags and more that are on the way. What sets me apart from others and what will always do the same is my way of selling an item. I’m not only selling an item, but I’m selling an experience from The want of my items to the packaging unfold and the top quality my company will always ensure. Stay tuned!
What were you like growing up?
I was always internet and tech-savvy. I was the go to one for anything such as a picture taken, a way around social media and etc. My vibe hasn’t always been as strong. I grew up in a way that did nothing but build me to who I am today. People have to learn to take what they have received and use that as their handbook to life. It’s all pre written
