Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelli Miller.
Hi Kelli, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve learned I need to explore, discover, and grow by trial and error. So my therapy practice took me a bit to arrive but by no accident. I know I needed to do a lot of careers before I settled into this one. I always had this pull/push between between the creative and the altruistic. I did a lot of work in acting/hosting and writing to fulfill my creative side and then did teaching and other helping professions to fulfill my compassionate and nurturing side. I believe as I felt more connected to who I and accepted the challenges in my life, I felt more called to focus on helping others.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I’ve been fortunate that my career progression has been relatively smooth. Some personal challenges along the way helped me develop perspective, empathy, and strong coping skills which ultimately made me a more effective professional. That perspective also informed my writing; I authored a best-selling book, which later led me to write Love Hacks: Simple Solutions to Your Most Common Relationship Issues, further grounding my professional work in real-world insight.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I feel deeply grateful that I genuinely love what I do. My passion is working with couples, as well as individuals who are ready to engage in meaningful change in their lives. Whether someone is navigating a crisis or simply wants to understand themselves more deeply, I enjoy working with people who are open, curious, and willing to do the work required to change patterns and improve their quality of life.
What sets me apart is my ability to balance compassion with honesty. I strive to create a non-judgmental, supportive space while also offering practical, skills-based tools that clients can use in their everyday lives. My goal is not for clients to rely on me long-term, but to truly help them help themselves – building insight, confidence, and emotional resilience they can carry forward.
In addition to my clinical work, I bring extensive media and writing experience to my practice. I am the author of Love Hacks: Simple Solutions to Your Most Common Relationship Issues (Reviewer’s Choice Awards winner) and the award-winning book Thriving with ADHD. I am a columnist for Psychology Today and have served as a relationship host on Balance by Nature TV and LA Talk Radio. I am currently a writer, brand ambassador, and relationship host for wikiHow.com
I’ve been a freelance writer for more than a dozen magazines and have been quoted in O, The Oprah Magazine, Outside Magazine, and The Hollywood Reporter. I’ve also conducted seminars and appeared on podcasts for over 30 outlets, including iHeartMedia, CBS News, Jen Cohen’s Habits and Hustle, and organizations such as Los Angeles International Airport and Los Angeles World Airports.
Together, my clinical expertise and media background allow me to offer therapy that is grounded, practical, and deeply attuned to the real-world challenges people face in their relationships and inner lives.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The Blessing of a Skinned Knee by Dr. Wendy Model. This book reminds me of the importance of resilience for both adults and children.
How to Be Happy, Dammit: A Cynic’s Guide to Spiritual Happiness by Karen Salmansohn. This is a quick but powerful read about life.
Many Lives, Many Masters by Dr. Brian Weiss. This was one of the first books that made me realize there is more to this life than the one we are living currently.
The Life You Were Born to Live: A Guide to Finding Your Life Purpose by Dan Millman. This is a beautiful book on why each one of us is put on this earth.
