Meet Jordan Peterson of West Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Peterson

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I recently moved to LA about 7 months ago now. Upon arrival I was set on being a hairdresser because that’s what I went to school for. Being 19 in such a big city for the first time left me overwhelmed with new experiences and people. I started working after about 2 months and started to realize that I was more passionate about my various hobbies. I’ve always loved writing, fashion, art, photography, etc. and had started a few focused social media accounts and ways to have side income throughout schooling. This led me down the path of combining all of these skills and starting a fashion blog and magazine. While the magazine is still in the beginning stages, my blog was launched with full force last month. I talk about business, fashion, relevant topics, and do commentary on things I find important as a young adult starting an independent life. I’m excited to continue working and going down different avenues within the fashion space but my main focus is nurturing a digital magazine featuring a place for young woman to create, inspire, and show off their personalities and looks.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. I’m nowhere I feel I need to be yet and living in a world where there’s potential for fast-paced financial growth or instant gratification is hard when you’re trying to build something from the ground up. It’s easy to get discouraged and want to give up when you don’t see immediate numbers or success. I had to leave a lot of things and people behind in order to move into this stage of my life as well as the mindset needed to start a business. It would be almost impossible to have everyone’s constant support within your life and I don’t share a lot of what I’m doing with who I’m closest to because I’m scared of failure. When you’re working for yourself it’s hard to set boundaries between professional life and your personal life. There’s a blurred line of when you should work and when you should spend time with people or even just alone with yourself. This is something that’s almost never talked about amongst entrepreneurs and it can be detrimental by causing burnout and strained relationships. There’s a lot of doubt and insecurity being somewhat new to the business, fashion, and social media space. Despite all of this, I’m trying my hardest to take even the tiniest wins as big accomplishments. Having big brand interactions and positive encounters has been what keeps me driven towards my goals.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m in a spot in my life where creativity and art takes up almost all of my time. Whether that’s painting for enjoyment or constantly being on my computer designing for my brand. I’m very much into the digital space at the moment because I’m kind of forced to be. With everything I’m doing being showcased online, I have to constantly be on my iPad, phone, or laptop. I’ve been doing digital art for around 3 years now which made me fall in love with graphic design. I’m even looking into schools and certification programs for it. It’s slowly started ti become a passion. This is what fuels what I’m doing in business. Having this background of art, design, and website building has made me not just more confident as an artist but also as a person. I’m trying to blend the spaces of art and fashion by creating a body of work that’s intentional and passionate. I’m most proud of sticking to building my skills. Being able to consistently get better and grow is what makes me want to do more. Learning new things and getting out of my comfort zone as an artist mainly but also honing the foundations. I’d say what sets me apart is that I feel like I can do anything. I’ve bleached designs on t-shirts, sold stickers on Redbubble, designed graphics for brands, built innovative websites, painted pieces on canvases, written poetry books, produced music, and so much more. No matter what I set out to do, I feel like I can accomplish anything in the artistic space.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I have many social media accounts. Most of my mine accounts are @lacedupbones on all platforms including Pinterest, instagram, Tiktok, and more. I also have a blog on Substack titled Truth To Fashion by Tape Mag. And overall there’s a lot more coming from me so you can keep up on my platforms for news, launches, and additional content.
