Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Jones.
Hi Jordan, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Lately it’s odd for me going back and feeling through how this all came to be for me because my life has really been like a long TV show. My parents were teachers at Hall High School in Hartford Connecticut and my Father taught Theatre, my Mother taught Dance. They had a plethora of their students go on to be prominent and successful Hollywood names some of which include, Charlie Kaufman & David Alan Basche to name a couple. So in a way, I had access to great teachers for what I dreamed and aspired to be. Mind you, I knew I wanted to Act at age 3 while watching movies on the weekends and my Father asked me one day, “Why do you always watch TV?” to which I replied, “I wanna do that.” He then said, “Do you know what that is?” I said, “It’s playing pretend.” He said, “That’s right, you know, some people make good money doing that?” I then exclaimed, “You can make money playing pretend!?” From that moment on no other career made sense to me at all because to me who wouldn’t want to do that for a career? At that time my Family moved to my Father’s hometown in the Midwest and over time my Parents began to train me in the Arts. Fast forward to graduating High School I then spent a semester in Collage before picking up everything and moving to LA, I stayed in school for about two more years than dropped out to focus on Film and TV completely. At age 21, I met my partner, Saundra and we’ve been together ever since. It’ll be 20 years this December I believe. Three years into the relationship we moved to Paris, France and I did 3 films while out there and flew back every January through March for pilot season. I’ve always wanted to do a SitCom but never had the opportunity yet to star in one. It’s the one type of leading work I’ve yet to do. Through-out my career I’ve worked on Stage, TV, Film, voice-over, character-costume work, Stunt & Fight coordinating, you name it I’ve probably done in both in front and behind the camera. The latest venture being with my film partner, J.W. Higley & https://diagonalistfilms.com – we’ve come together and are developing and pitching to both veteran film studios and private investors with our projects.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, by no means smooth at all! It still isn’t. From my experience the only way things turn out smoothly in the Entertainment business is if you just don’t stop or concern yourself with how the world views success because God’s definition and the world’s are completely opposite a majority of the time. Coming into harmony with following your dreams and desiring God’s Love and Truth to enter your soul on all matters will take you further than anything else in this world. My struggle is exactly that, a spiritual one, because I know I’ve achieved so much already but still wanting more. I have met and befriended people in this business that I looked up to and aspired to work with and they know me. We may never actually get the opportunity but I’ve had award winning Actors tell me I have what it takes to be successful and a long career, that alone should make me happy but this drive to keep pursuing and creating more and more is still buried deep in my soul to leave a lasting impression with each role I have the opportunity to portray. My hope is to eventually though just settle down and work when I desire and then spend the rest of my time helping others and connecting to God more with each passing moment.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Actor. I’ve spent my whole life in pursuit of a successful career in the entertainment industry. It’s not something that comes easy. I’m currently season 2 of “ELKHORN” which will be airing Oct. 9th, 2025. I play, Kilpatrick, who is a reoccurring character this season. The show airs on the INSP network.
I’d have to say my proudest career accomplishment would be getting my martial arts instructor certification from Guro Dan Inosanto. I’ve been a martial artist my whole life and that was something I just wanted for me and it truly was a dream come true. What sets me apart though from other Actors? In the entertainment world, in truth, you don’t need talent to get work. You just have to know the right people or have a great team supporting you or create something yourself. Now, what keeps you working, is talent, and that has to be cultivated. Because Nepotism is HUGE in Hollywood. You could be the most talented and best actor in the world but if the producer wants to use their nephew as the lead in the Tv show, well, you’re outta luck. People think I joke about that stuff but it happens more often than people think. You really have to separate yourself from the rest of the group and the only way to do that is to be talented otherwise you’re just another face in this industry.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
Wow…yes, I’ve had many actually. They didn’t play a role in my success with my work but they’ve always been in my corner while I’ve been paving my way in Hollywood. My partner, Saundra above everyone else, she’s been with me through all the ups and downs and is the one person who knows me better than anyone else on the planet, my love for her holds no bounds. My parents, my Father and my late Mother, even though we would argue and disagree they both sculpted things in me that made me the man I am today. My Sister, Michaela has always been a cheerleader of mine and are relationship was distant for many years but now it’s reforming again as time progresses. We still bump heads too but we aim to grow. My film partner, J.W. Higley has kept the fire going for me as well with all the projects we’re working on together. I know without him I probably would have hung up my gloves so to speak and retired from the game at this current stage in my life. Writer/Director Che Grant, a dear friend and college who I have had the pleasure of working on multiple projects with and am slated for two more of his projects for the future. Now, way early in my career the one person who always had my back and time for me was one of my Father’s students, David Alan Basche, he took me under his wing and guided me. I applied everything he’s ever taught me about the industry to the best of my ability and I hope one day we get star together in a film or TV series. Lately, when I go back to my hometown I’ve had old classmates and friends of my family tell me how much they support me and are proud of me which is a really good feeling as well because growing up I didn’t have that kind of support. Everyone just though, “Oh yeah, you’re gonna be an Actor, right, that’s just a dream.” Now when I come back to my hometown people share how I did exactly what I said I would do and for some it’s been inspirational. My latest trip back someone suggested that I write a memoir about my whole life which I’ve actually started to write. Probably will take me 5 to 10 years to finish but I’m starting it though. When that suggestion was made I thought, “My life is much” but then I realized, my life, just like anyone else is unique and my story may help or inspire someone. So, I owe it to the world to tell it.
