Today we’d like to introduce you to John Chung.

As non-glamorous as it sounds, JYB Entertainment was born when a close friend of mcJYB (John Chung), Peter Lee, was in need of an emcee for his wedding reception. Peter knew of John’s extraordinary capability to move crowds with his enthusiastic, outgoing personality. John gladly took on the duties as the MC for Peter’s wedding reception. Although it was his first attempt, Peter, his wife (Sun-mi) and the guests were entertained throughout the evening.

With the countless hours brainstorming one-of-a-kind, individualized receptions, he has orchestrated numerous weddings, creating a memorable evening for hundreds of newlyweds.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
In the early years, we had a bit of a struggle with unstable DJs. However, after a close partnership with Moonstone DJs, we were able to maintain a steady flow of well experienced, club resident DJs. With a reliable veteran DJs under our arsenal, we have been satisfying Brides, Grooms and their guests ever since.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about JYB Entertainment – what should we know?
To be honest, entertaining guests at weddings and other events are a hobby of mine. It never feels like work as I am having as much fun and enjoying the event as much as the guests. I always tell my clients that weddings are filled with happy people and what better atmosphere can I ask for. Most all of our clients are a bit lost when it comes to planning their wedding and I feel very fortunate that I can relay my experiences to them so that they can have the wedding they visioned.

No two couples are alike, and we are dedicated to making a unique and special experience for the couple. This is why we take the time to sit down with potential clients to hear their vision for their big party and make sure we customize it to their needs.

We believe in the “Jerry McGuire” philosophy of connecting with our clients and giving them the customized wedding reception they want.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I believe our most important quality to our success comes from the energy we bring to the crowd. We do not have a script or preset jokes, but we live on the moment and feed off of the crowd with our witty comments.

Our clients also enjoy our attention to detail in their reception, as we that allows their weddings to be exactly as discussed during our meetings. Therefore, the biggest party they throw flows in their particular style.
