Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica “Flossy” Manske.
Hi Jessica “Flossy”, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out my life’s journey in something completely different. I’ve been a board-certified pediatric dentist since 2010, and I’ve been a creative person my entire life. In 2013, I signed up for DJ school on a whim- not even knowing what a DJ actually did up there. That spontaneous decision opened a creative floodgate I never saw coming. Over the years, I found myself drawn deeper into the world of music, taking more classes on how to produce, write songs, and sing from the heart. What started as a hobby became a passion, and now I’m in a transition period, possibly walking away from my dental life and stepping into my destiny.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road and my journey’s still unfolding! For years, dentistry has been a huge part of my identity. I’ve always been driven by a desire to help people, and dentistry is definitely a part of that. But over time, I started to feel the pull of music, which also helps and heals people in a totally different way. What began as a creative escape slowly revealed itself as my true path in life. Producing, songwriting, and DJing have allowed me to connect, uplift, and inspire in ways I never expected. I still value my work as a dentist, but now I embrace the fuller picture of who I am—a healer, an artist, and someone who’s not afraid to evolve. I had a dental office/ practice and we actually shut down after the pandemic, so I am still recovering from that while essentially starting a brand new business with my music/ DJing and event DJing career.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a DJ/music producer/ singer/ songwriter. I put together high energy sets, usually bass house club remixes of popular songs. It’s always going to be a party when I’m around. My music I’ve released so far I would call a mix of The Chainsmokers and Taylor Swift- catchy grooves with meaningful lyrics.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
It’s that old cliche- “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.”
