Meet Jeannette Zhang of VasTree Real Estate in Monrovia

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeannette Zhang.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I obtained my real estate license during high school with the sole objective to have more knowledge to protect my folks. I enjoy fine art and music growing up and that is what led me to study advertising design for my bachelor’s degree. During my undergraduate studies, I successfully closed many residential and commercial real estate transactions on the side.

Shortly after I graduated in 2010, I started my real estate company in August of 2011. I rented a five hundred square feet office in the City of Arcadia and started with zero agent & staff. The modern office environment and unique business structure quickly gained the attention and interest of many experienced & active real estate agents. The company introduced new methods to conduct business and created a brand new concept for real estate professionals, unlike ANY other traditional real estate companies. In less than 5 years, the company TRIPLED in agent size and sales volume. In June of 2014, I purchased my own office building in the City of Monrovia and we finally moved into a much needed bigger office. The VasTree Team currently consists of more than 200 real estate agents and a branch office in Las Vegas, Nevada. In everything we do, it reflects our commitment to provide a fair and transparent system to our agents and consumers.

In 2017, VasTree developed and launched an exclusive web-based business management system. The system “VAST®global” is currently the only program of its kind in existence. The company’s franchise division has just been approved by the State of California in mid-2017. The VasTree Franchise Development Team have a growing list of prospective franchisees that will be opening their franchise locations in 2018.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It was definitely not a smooth road. Since I started VasTree with no agents and could not afford to hire any help, I had to learn everything from scratch. There has been many ups and downs because the business was growing rapidly but I never had any formal business education since I studied art & design. I am an avid reader and have learned about business management from the books I’ve read. We have a saying in our office which is “Never a dull moment…” because there is always something out of the ordinary or a new challenge everyday but I see these challenges as a chance to learn something learn and I use it as guidelines, obstacles and challenges are not stop signs.

VasTree started with zero agents & staff. We have quickly grown to over 200 associates and is starting to franchise this year. VasTree is an established real estate company that is leading a revolutionary movement in modern real estate operations and franchising.
