Today we’d like to introduce you to Ivan Pineda.
Hi Ivan, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story began back in 2018 when I started my own podcast dedicated to covering the Mexican soccer team Club América. From there I took on the role of being not only the podcast host, but the graphic designer, editor, and most importantly photographer. I remember picking up my first camera Canon M50 and just doing my research on how to take the best photo’s and videos with that camera. Along the way I was ale to cover multiple events for the podcast, took multiple pictures and just fell in love with photography.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The traveled road has definitely not been an easy one. I think the learning curve from YouTube to real life has been one that sometimes I still try to manage today. You can learn as much as you can but putting it to practice, that’s the tricky part. But in some ways that’s the fun of the journey. When you look back at the work you’ve published and track the progression it makes you appreciate the grind just that much more.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about IP83 Photography?
My business is tailored to sports event shooting. Specifically soccer events around Club América as I do a lot of work with my podcast. But that’s not the only type of photography I am capable of doing. I am working on doing more portrait shots of families or individuals.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being behind the camera and editing. There’s just something about having this idea in your mind and seeing it come to life that puts a smile on my face. I know a lot of photographers who love being at events taking pictures but sometimes dread the editing process, but for me that’s the best part. Anyone can click a button and take a picture, but the true art is editing it and making it your own and bringing that picture to life in your own ways.
