Meet Griselda Dominguez of Nineteen27 Vintage Rentals in Whittier

Today we’d like to introduce you to Griselda Dominguez.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Griselda. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started this business with my love of vintage furniture. There was only so much furniture I could fit into my home and when I learned that there was an industry for vintage furniture rentals, I thought I’d take a shot. I then fell in love with both the business aspect and meeting so many wonderful people and being able to help bring their visions to life.

Has it been a smooth road?
It has not always been a smooth road. I’m a new business owner so I’ve had a lot to learn along the way and I’m still learning new things every day. Not to mention, I still have my full time corporate job. It’s definitely been a struggle juggling my full-time job, my business and my family, but at the end of the day, I find a way to get it all done. Nothing comes easy, but I love what I’m doing and I wouldn’t change a thing!

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Nineteen27 Vintage Rentals story. Tell us more about the business.
Nineteen27 Vintage started out solely with vintage furniture rentals, however, now we not only rent vintage furniture, but also modern and eclectic pieces. We specialize in weddings, birthday parties, anniversaries, dinner parties, etc. Our pieces add a special touch to any event.

It’s been such a fun journey and so rewarding helping clients that are on tight budgets, but still want to have their dream wedding/celebration. That’s where we come in. Our clients are not dollar signs; they are people who deserve to be able to celebrate their joyous occasions all within their budget.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
This industry is growing at a rapid pace. People love to celebrate and are being very creative with the design aspect of their events. They want standout pieces that make statements and set them apart from all others. I don’t see this industry going anywhere but up.
