Meet Graham Chaffee

Today we’d like to introduce you to Graham Chaffee.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
I graduated from Art Center College in 1988 and worked for a few years as a freelance illustrator for various magazines. I also taught illustration for a time and have written/drawn several graphic novels for Fantagraphics Books.

I started tattooing in 1994. I am the owner of Purple Panther Tattoos in Hollywood and am very happy there.

Tattooing is a very satisfying way of making art because of the personal connection that can develop between the artist and client – I wouldn’t trade it for anything. 🙂

Please tell us about your art.
I work pretty hard to make folks happy. You can come in with the vaguest, most ephemeral idea, and I will work with you to turn it into something beautiful – something you can see on your skin for the rest of your life. 🙂
