Today we’d like to introduce you to Geronimo Tzikin
Hi Geronimo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was born and raised in a marketing agency—my mom owned one back home in Colombia. Growing up surrounded by creatives, I got my start in modeling and acting at a young age. However, I soon realized that my true calling was behind the scenes, bringing productions and projects to life.
Shortly after quitting modeling and acting, I began working for my mom’s agency as a PA, assisting the production team in producing and prepping commercials for clients such as Avianca Airlines, Renault, and more.
Once I started university in Colombia for film production, I had a head start with field experience in the industry. After graduation, I decided to travel to different countries and eventually landed in LA, which I now get to call home. Not long after making LA my new home, I decided to produce my first feature film, which secured sponsorship from BMW. This process was quite intense—I blew through my savings while managing three production units in different countries: Colombia, Mexico, and the US.
Once I completed this project, I began shopping around for distributors. During this process, I had the opportunity to meet Randy Greenberg, Executive Producer of Cowboys & Aliens and The Meg (1 & 2), Mike Sherman, a TV producer, among others. While seeking distribution deals, I had to start working in restaurants and hospitality like many other immigrants. However, I was determined to break into the film industry, so I opened my LLC and began “cold calling”—but instead of phone calls, I sent DMs to brands and businesses in LA and Orange County. Over time, I built a client base and had the opportunity to work with real estate agents from The Oppenheim Group, developers, social media influencers, and even achieved a publication of my work in Vogue magazine.
This has been my journey up to 2025.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been an easy path at all. Starting from zero in a new country without knowing anyone was incredibly challenging. On top of that, I became the sole provider for my family here in the U.S., which added a lot of pressure. My journey began with a rough start—working in retail and restaurants for minimum wage just to get by. There were moments of uncertainty and doubt, but what kept me going was the thought of taking care of my family and making my mother proud. Those two motivations gave me the strength to push forward, even when things felt impossible. My biggest advice for anyone facing struggles is to be persistent, even on the darkest days—because perseverance is what ultimately leads to success.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
The Covid-19 crisis opened my eyes to some deep and important truths about life and humanity. It made me realize that we, as people, need to stop being so foolish and selfish. At the end of the day, we are all human, made of muscle and bone, and none of us are invincible. We’ve all experienced the loss of family and friends during this time, and it’s reminded me that we have to care for one another—because, in the end, that’s all we really have. In such trying times, we need to be critical thinkers, acknowledging that, while we may be able to survive on our own, the future of our children and loved ones depends on how much we care for each other now. I’ve learned to be more compassionate, to put the needs of others first, and to be supportive, because the well-being of the collective is what will shape a better tomorrow.
