Meet George Goldberg of L.A. Text Savings

Today we’d like to introduce you to George Goldberg.

George, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
After practicing law in SoCal for many years, I was able to sell my practice about 9 years ago.

I thought I’d retire, but I got bored in about 10 minutes. In looking for a new business venture to immerse myself in I stumbled into this rather new concept of text message marketing along with a loyalty rewards program. I was intrigued and, after doing considerable due diligence, took the plunge and created LA Text Savings.

While commercial texting had not quite ‘arrived’ in 2010 I saw the potential and persevered. Now, 8 years later, we have in excess of 130 clients who have over 300,000 subscribers. Our client list is growing weekly and businesses now seek us out.

We have created a “win-win-win” scenario. Our clients make money from our services. We make money from them and their customers love receiving permission-based texts that can save them money and not cost them anything.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not! In the beginning, for the first several years, when we approached a new prospect they would look at us as though we were crazy when we suggested texting for their business. Now, it’s almost easy. Almost everyone texts and we have a history of success. Check out all the 5 Star reviews on our Yelp page.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about L.A. Text Savings – what should we know?
We specialize is small to medium sized retail, brick and mortar types of businesses who need either more new customers or more repeat business (or both). We are most proud of our retention rate with customers which, we believe, it due to our ‘above and beyond’ customer support and service.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Working closely with each and every client. Our success is directly linked to their success.
