Meet Fiona Flyte

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fiona Flyte.

Fiona Flyte

Hi Fiona, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I fell in love with Broadway at six years old when I saw Annie for the first time. I thought I wanted to do THAT.

It would be another 14 years before I really considered taking the idea of becoming a professional singer seriously. At this point, I was in college and had started singing lessons with an opera singer.

One day she said, “You know, you actually have a voice for opera.”

“Who me! OPERA???”

But I couldn’t deny how much I loved the feeling of that large operatic sound moving through my body. The pure vibration was like nothing I’d ever experienced.

From that point on, I immersed myself in opera.

The more I performed publicly, the more often someone would hear me sing and ask if I could teach them.

I’d say, “Yes!”

For two decades, I made my career in music as a singer and coach, but I felt frustrated by the ceiling I felt was hovering over my income.

I started to see the same ceiling crushing the dreams of my students.

And I thought this just isn’t right!

There’s got to be a way for artists to make real money doing what we were put on earth to do.

We artists, musicians, dancers, actors, singers are absolutely as valuable as any other profession that requires a deep commitment to mastery, continued education, and practical study, just like medicine or the law.

From this knowing I vowed to create a path for performing artists to become profitable without needing to wait for any industry decision-maker to give you permission to earn a living.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
My biggest struggles as an artist/teacher came from not understanding the value of diversifying my income, thinking my teaching income was somehow inferior to the income I made performing, and generally giving my power away at every audition and competition. I was desperate to be liked because I thought I needed to book jobs in order to make money.

This wasn’t even true!

What I’ve learned and what I now teach my clients is that I, the artist, am solely responsible for my career.

It’s not about luck. It’s not about who you know. (Though of course these things help!)

It’s about deciding you’re good enough and choosing to be confident.

It’s about thinking like a CEO instead of a freelancer.

It’s about building a real business instead of thinking paycheck to paycheck.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What really sets me apart as a business coach is that I’m also an artist. Every course and program I’ve developed is built from that lens.

You could buy any course on making Instagram reels, but only my program Reel Magic is focused entirely on teaching performing artists how to create social media content to promote your shows, new releases, open lesson spots, etc.

The other thing that makes me unique are the years I’ve devoted to my own personal development and spiritual growth.

I never teach from a strategy-only perspective. I no longer perform from a technique-focused perfectionism.

Instead, I’m all about integrating your deepest Self into everything you do, from how you show up in business and on stage to how you live your life.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters to me most is helping artists to become whole. This means developing true character, resilience, strength, and confidence.

It means making money and believing you as an artist, deserve to make money.

My passion to help performing artists to become profitable is founded on my own deep belief that art is a tremendous force for good for healing in the world.

We serve the world through our art. We artists are gifted and extraordinarily special and important to the planet.

And that’s why as an artist, you deserve to be well compensated for your time, energy, and expertise.

You do NOT need to be remarkably famous to be a remarkable artist. And all artists deserve to be paid.
