Today we’d like to introduce you to Eureka!!!
Hi Eureka!!!, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up in multiple cities in the SF Bay Area but Milpitas and San Jose are the 2 cities I call home.My love for music began at age 4 when I heard “Feel So Good” by Ma$e on the radio I would sing the hook over and over again. I really loved singing but I kept it private until I performed the national anthem in front of my choir class at age 10. I took dance lessons at 12 and began performing publicly at 13. To improve my skills, I took opera lessons, took acting classes, and worked with my performance coach Joe Santoro. I performed at various events. At 16, I joined I started recording in the studio with 2 former friends I met from my church’s choir and collabed on song called “The Wall”. At 17, I moved to LA to attend the American Musical Dramatic Academy’s Musical Theatre BFA program and soon after moved to New York. When I came back to Cali, I joined a Pop girl group called Hashtag and then after that a Rap/Pop group called Eurilee, but I ended up leaving to pursue my solo career because I knew that was my true purpose in life. I graduated with my degree and since then, I’ve been making music independently.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
HELL NA! Sorry to cuss but no it’s been a bunch of potholes, dead ends, I’ve had to take so many detour routes on my journey. Throughout my life I’ve been through a lot and seen a lot, not ready to go into detail about that yet but the fact that I’m still here today is ONLY by GOD’S GRACE. I’ve dealt with industry people in the business who didn’t share the same vision as me who wanted to take my music in a direction that I didn’t feel was being true to myself and my artistry.I’ve also dealt with industry people who were suppose to be on my team but secretly competing and working against me, having ulterior motives,SPEAKING OF INDUSTRY PEOPLE!!! I was dealing with an EVIL shiesty Music Producer/Songwriter (I met when I was 17 right before I moved to LA) who mentored me from when I was age 18-19. He did HORRIBLE things to me but, anyways I’ll leave the rest of that story to some of the music I got comin out! Also, a somewhat well known Artist stole my entire sound and style but they can’t copy my soul! Some of My music and original ideas have been stolen, watered down and given to other artists and what upsets me is the fact that most of it was my unreleased music-they do it in a way to where you can’t sue them for it. I’ve had so many setbacks, I’ve had to start all over again too many times, there were times when I felt like giving up on music completely but I can’t I gotta keep it pushin and know that no matter what, success is my destiny!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and fashionista. I’ve collabed with some local LA Artists and appeared on a reality show Sweetie Pies.I have my own sound that blends pop, lo-fi, r&b, hip hop, and gospel. I think one of the things that sets me apart is I talk about mental health a lot in my music which isn’t common for an R&B singer. I don’t just make songs about love, I talk about real life stuff, things I’ve been through, things I’m going through, music is really my therapy. I’m very proud that I’m still doing music after everything Ive been through most people would have gave up but not me! I’m a fighter! it’s in just in me to be resilient.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
It’s important to take risks. I love taking risks staying in my comfort zone is boring I like an adventure. Sometimes you just gotta take a step of faith and trust the process. I could have just stayed in the bay after high school but instead I chose to come to LA & NY when I was a teenager by myself with no money, no industry connections, just my talent and a hunger to succeed! I was scared but excited at the same time.
