Meet Erin Taylor of Events TaylorMade in Huntington Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Erin Taylor.

Erin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Events TaylorMade was officially formed in 2009 after assisting a young bride create her dream wedding on a shoestring budget.

My husband and I talked and thought it would be so nice to have a basic set of rental items that ALL couples could afford to rent. What began as chocolate brown linens, gold charger plates and a variety of vases (easily stored in garage) quickly grew into an inventory of more than 30 colors of linens, dinner service for 400 in three styles and hundreds of decor pieces! We offer flat rate packages as well as individual rentals and have taken the same philosophy and applied it to our floral department providing fresh florals for a fraction of the price most retail florists charge!

We recently moved to a new larger location and will be opening our intimate wedding chapel in August so couples will have an alternative to courthouse weddings.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Gosh no it hasn’t been a smooth road at all! What we are trying to do is revolutionize the industry and hat always is met with resistance. In this industry of lush and lavish and 400% markup, many in our industry just don’t understand our vision and feel the need to “educate” us.

Rapid growth was also a challenge of a wonderful kind! But a challenge nevertheless. We received so many donations to our Angel Brides program that our need for storage literally doubled overnight!

Now, clients wise is a completely different story! We are so proud that we have helped hundreds of couples (who others have turned away for lack of budget) achieve their dream wedding well within their budget!!

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Events TaylorMade – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We offer low cost, truly affordable rentals and flowers for all occasions.

What we specialize in is helping our clients who’ve been told they just don’t have enough of a budget to have a nice event.

Above all else we are most proud of our Angel Brides program! We are alerted to a couple with extenuating circumstances, zero budget and need our help in a big way and fast! These couples are either military getting ready to deploy or families with an illness. My husband is a retired Marine so taking care of our military couples is VERY important to us!

A quick story to share – in January 2015 we were told about a bride whose mom was ending her journey with stage 4 cancer and they were trying to out a wedding together before mom passed. What started with a 3-week timeframe quickly became four days! We rallied the volunteers and created a beautiful wedding that mom was able to attend and create memories. One of our past Angel Brides donated the food – to pay it forward.

Mom passed away three days later. It was heartbreaking, beautiful and our honor to be able to do this

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Our first “next step” in the grand plan is our wedding chapel which will host its first wedding in August. We are thrilled that we will be able to offer our Angel Brides and Military couples affordable wedding options. Ultimately, we would love to have a small venue to be able to house 100- 150 people to be able to welcome our clients and provide everything they need.
