Meet Eliza Spear

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliza Spear.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The artist journey is no easy feat. The largest obstacle is staying committed in the face of immense saturation and noise, as well as the state of the industry today being one that sees numbers before art. We must hold to the music, the need to create, and the privilege of getting to try every day to create a lifestyle out of our life’s purpose.

IMO, life is matter of choosing your hard – this wasn’t intended to be easy. The only thing we can choose is what we do and how we approach it. I try to lead with gratitude in that I get to be an artist and do what I’ve always wanted.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I spin my stories and emotions into songs with the hope of them resonating with mass audiences. I’ve written music for as long as I can remember, and I’ve learned to try an array of things to get people to discover me. I find marketing/selling myself to be a fun challenge, and I get such fulfillment from advocating for my music.

I call my genre of music “Chamber Pop,” with influences of Florence and The Machine, Brandi Carlile, Haim, and Joni Mitchell.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
The best way to keep up with me and my music is through my mailing list. I write weekly about my efforts to build a creative career through my blog, and am fully forward about the highs and lows. My hope is that people will feel seen in that transparency, and inspired to respond with their own stories.

I’m so eager to take a break from creating content, and instead use my energy to create connection everywhere else. Thank you, and I can’t wait to hear from you.
