Meet Eliza Niaki of Irvine

Today we’d like to introduce you to Eliza Niaki.

Hi Eliza, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2016, I made a surprising career shift from banking to become the CEO of BEL Event Productions. What seemed like a bold move at the time has turned into a dream job I never knew I wanted. Now, I can’t imagine a more thrilling and fulfilling career.

My passion for events and genuine care for clients drive me to understand their cultures, meet their expectations, and respect their budgets. My background in business and finance, combined with an entrepreneurial spirit, has given me a solid grasp of financial management and the value of cultural diversity. Speaking four languages and traveling to over 40 countries have broadened my perspective and helped me connect with a diverse range of clients.

I’m proud to have been involved in over 1,000 event productions, personally planning more than 400. My expertise in design and event logistics continues to grow as I explore the industry further. I’m inspired by life and driven by the visions of my clients and team, always striving to turn their dreams into reality and exceed their expectations.

Outside of work, I’m a proud mother to a 28-year-old son who shares my love for outdoor adventures and soccer. When I’m not witnessing the magic of my clients’ special days, you might find me cycling on my road bike or hiking in the mountains. My passion for travel and diverse cultures often leads to entertaining stories from my global journeys.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Two, unexpected challenges we faced proved to me that with a great team, determination, and a true passion for creating memorable events for our clients, you can accomplish great things regardless of the degree of adversity you face. Several years ago, during peak event season, a rapidly moving nearby fire engulfed our entire facilities in what felt like a matter of moments. We were beyond fortunate that our team was able to evacuate, unharmed. However, from a business perspective, we lost everything. It was through the pure will and passion of our team, and the support of our friends and community, that we were able to continue our operations without any impact to our clients, including ones which had events scheduled within days after the fire. Another challenge which we faced that most people can relate directly with was the COVID Pandemic. Celebrations and gatherings all but disappeared as social distancing took over society’s norms. Rather than focusing on the limits social distancing placed on the events industry, we looked at the situation as an opportunity, and quickly developed scalable solutions for celebrating safely, outdoors. We invested heavily in our inventory, with a laser-focus on innovative outdoor solutions to create options customers never had before. And along the way, we’ve created new traditions and ways to celebrate. I guess in the end, we are event planners, and we believe planning is everything. And that includes having a plan when the unexpected happens.
