Meet Elica Atienza of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Elica Atienza.

Hi Elica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A lot of my path has come from learning as I go, following what felt right, adjusting when things didn’t work, and picking up skills along the way.

In college, I studied Health Informatics and also worked in healthcare and academic settings, where I learned the importance of communication, organization, and follow through. At the same time, I was helping my younger brother, Elsian, build his music career. What started as support quickly grew into managing projects, coordinating releases, and helping shape creative direction through music and digital content.

Those worlds weren’t completely separate, they were actually teaching me similar skills in different ways. Over time, I learned how to balance structure with creativity and how to communicate clearly whether I’m working with patients, students, artists, or teams behind the scenes.

I’ve had moments where I needed to pivot, reevaluate, and advocate for myself, especially when things didn’t go the way I expected. Those experiences shaped how I approach work now — with resilience, adaptability, and intention.

Today, I’m focused on building a path that lets me contribute meaningfully, keep learning, and tell stories that connect people. I’m still learning and growing, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited about where I’m headed.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. There were times when I had to change direction, start over, or keep going without a clear path. Balancing school, healthcare work, and creative projects meant learning how to manage uncertainty and pressure early on.

I’ve faced self doubt and burnout, especially when things I worked hard for didn’t turn out the way I expected. Navigating systems that weren’t always flexible, whether in academics, healthcare, or creative spaces, pushed me to advocate for myself and figure things out on my own.

Those challenges allowed me to slow down, reflect, and become more intentional about what I commit to. Looking back, the difficult moments taught me resilience, adaptability, and how to keep moving forward even when the path wasn’t clear.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I work in the health information management field and also manage my younger brother, Elsian (LCN!), in his music career.

Across both healthcare and music, my role is largely about building structure behind the scenes. In healthcare, I support patients and teams as they navigate complex systems and workflows. In creative spaces, I manage timelines, coordinate projects, and help translate an artist’s vision into real, executable outcomes.

What I’m most proud of is being able to move between very different worlds while bringing the same level of care, organization, and professionalism to each. I’ve learned how to communicate clearly with a wide range of people — patients, faculty, artists, and administrators, and I take pride in being someone others trust to follow through thoughtfully. I am also especially proud of what my brother and I have built together, growing his music career from the ground up with a small but dedicated team.

What sets me apart is my ability to balance structure with creativity. I understand systems, but I also understand people, and I’m intentional about bridging that gap in everything I do.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
What I like best about LA is being surrounded by other creatives and the energy that comes with it. There’s a constant stream of opportunities and interesting people to meet, which is really inspiring. I also love that even in a big city, I can still carve out moments to explore, enjoy the outdoors, and discover unique shops, a little piece of that Pacific Northwest lifestyle I grew up with. The city is also very fast paced and busy, which can feel a bit overwhelming at times, but I think part of the excitement of the city comes from that very energy.
