Hi Ebony, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2020 with a small collection of lashes. I’ve always been obsessed with makeup and things beauty related. It started with my mom, she was always so well-kept. I would always watch her put her makeup on and mimic her because I just thought the transformation was so cool. Back in the day, they didn’t have all the makeup “trends” that we do now so I remember asking my best friend to teach me how to do my makeup step by step and my fascination grew from there. I just love being able to play and create in endless ways. Within the years I’ve expanded it to a cosmetics brand that will continue growing.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It certainly hasn’t been a smooth road. My business journey have tested me both on a mental and spiritual level. Some of the struggles I had was finding the right marketing forum and marketing strategies because the beauty industry is so competitive. Also, laying down the foundation to scale the business to whereas it can be profitable. I will say staying consistent was probably the toughest obstacle because you need that consistency to build trust and improve efficiency and when I wasn’t making my monthly sales goal or close to it, I would be discouraged and prioritize other things. As business owners, we can be so hard on ourselves, it’s extremely important to remain faithful and positive because you have moments where you lose confidence in your business. It’s so much noise that goes through our heads being business owners and it can either fuel and motivate or break you.
