Meet Dr. Raymond Nourmand of Dr. Raymond Nourmand, Ph.D., Inc.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Raymond Nourmand.

Hi Dr. Raymond, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I learned pretty quickly through my interactions with people that I’m good at listening to people. I could hear the nuances behind what people are trying to say. Also, I noticed that through this process of being heard, people got really happy. So that’s when I started to get the idea that I’m really good at listening to people, people like it, and I could probably help a lot of people with this gift. When I decided to major in Psychology in college, I loved going to class and learning more about people and the issues we face. From there, it was a very natural progression for me to study Psychology in graduate school, so I did. And I really loved and savored it. Now, I get to listen to, talk to, and navigate people through their issues for a living, and it’s pretty amazing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it wasn’t so smooth. As with many people who start a journey for themselves, I struggled at first wondering if I was good enough to make it. With so many therapists in this town, I was anxious about whether I would be able to stand out as a psychologist in Los Angeles. I stressed out a lot at first, trying to find my footing. I was scared. Future tripped a lot. Worried whether things will work out.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I am clinical psychologist and therapist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology here in Los Angeles. I run a solo practice, doing individual, couples, and family therapy for adults, teenagers, and children. I specialize in treating people struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship stress, suicidality, trauma, and addictions.

One of the things that I believe set me apart from other psychologists, therapists, and counselors is my ability to truly “get” people and get to the root cause of their issues quickly. While caring and compassionate, I am very active and direct in sessions. I say it how I see it, and help people feel seen and heard in ways they’ve probably never been before.

Also, I’m licensed to practice in several states across the country, including New York and Florida. I think that’s pretty cool 🙂

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
I want to thank everyone who I’ve ever come across throughout my life, who has helped me learn more about myself, and taught me in one way or another the value of being myself, believing in myself, and trusting that things will work out.
