Meet DTLA Photographer: Ramon Garibaldi

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramon Garibaldi.

Ramon, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’m in the military and one of my assignments required me to do a lot traveling, so since I was always on the road I took advantage of being in New places and capturing the beautiful places around me. The hobby quickly turned into a passion for me and it is what it is now today.

Has it been a smooth road?
The photography world is getting tougher nowadays, with cameras in every phone and every person with a camera calling themselves a photographer the market has become saturated. Trying to set myself apart from those people is a bit difficult because when you tell people that you are a photographer usually their first question is, are you a photographer or do you take pictures.

What’s the hardest part of your job?
Getting models can be a struggle for a new photographer, I have found that out first hand but I think hard work and building a good network can help out with that.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Well for me photography is a passion and being able to share my work with others that have the same passion is what I try to do but it doesn’t hurt to make extra money on the side, but all in all its been my passion for the art that’s gotten me to this point.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I’m hoping that I can start network on a bigger scale and get to work with new and up incoming talent.
