Meet Dionne Pringle of Dionne Marie Chez Moi in East Hollywood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dionne Pringle.

Dionne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Already decided on a business name as a teen, I studied a couple of years of French. In college, I studied Fashion Design at Los Angeles Trade Technical College and AI California Design College. I tried different venues in selling from 2000 to 2004, and set up a home base business Established in 2005. Starting off selling and coordinating clothing for family and friends and having fashion shows of my designs. As word of mouth and recommendations spread the business continued and expanded to an online business in 2014. On May 1, 2017 Dionne Marie Chez Moi had a soft opening to introduce ourselves to the public. On June 3, 2017 Dionne Marie Chez Moi will have a Grand Opening.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, although word of mouth was great, I needed to reach a larger market. Just like any business there are slow times and times when I was extremely busy. There were times I had to stop altogether to take care of personal matters and raise my family, so I had to refocused the business. I learned many things through trial and error but I continued to keep my dreams alive for hopes of a physical store. And this is our new beginning with a small physical store inside a swap meet.

Please tell us about Dionne Marie Chez Moi.
Dionne Marie Chez Moi offers quality and fashionable products. The company has various assortments of apparel, accessories, jewelry and special handmade jewelry, handbags, Vegan handbags, beauty products, and handmade napkin rings.

We are known for our handmade items, fashion clothing and handbags which is why there was a decision to bring in Vegan Handbags for the health contentious woman. There will be an expansion to bring in more vegan products for those who like pure and organic materials.

As the Fashion Designer and Business Owner of the company, I come with a background in Corporate Office Administration, the Retail Industry, and Beauty Consulting and Makeup Application. I believe that women everywhere should always be at their best and keep redeveloping who they are and want to become. Helping women to be confident in who they are by encouraging flattering fashion that suit their needs is what makes us different from our competitors.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
As a child, I would watch my mother sew new dresses for myself and sister. Always feeling amazed by the outcome and wishing I could touch the machine that I was too young for, that set a spark in me to design and coordinate clothing. As I was watching my mother sew our clothing I would dress my dolls up. I would watch her every move from laying the material out, to putting the pattern down, marking the clothes with a serrate marker (thinking why is my mother using a pizza cutter), to cutting and sewing the dresses together. My mother was always sewing, she always wanted us to look beautiful, neat, and clean all the time. We were always wearing a new dress and I remember never allowing my new dress to get dirty…LOL!
