Today we’d like to introduce you to Dewayne and Tauna Carson.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Dewayne and Tauna. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
With a degree in Fashion Merchandising, I (Tauna) launched my career as a wardrobe stylist by being published in over 30 magazines for my editorial work, where I developed an eye for visual design by paring the perfect outfit in the perfect setting. Now, I’m happy to say, I work with my husband of 17 years, Dewayne. Originally, when Dewayne and I first started working together, he was to be my booking manager, but that all changed after our first big job for Wells Fargo Advisors. Dewayne was asked by the photographer to handle the props and from there we kept expanding our services. Our company Dynamite Productions offers services in Production Design handling set design, props, wardrobe, product and food styling. Dewayne having had training in visual design as well as the culinary arts offers a unique set of skills along with his problem-solving mentality. What really sets us apart from other production designers is that we are a team of makers. If you need a custom prop or set piece, most times we can make it in house.
Has it been a smooth road?
Each project presents its own set of challenges and we take pride in being problem solvers who make it happen. On most jobs we are asked to do something or make something that we have never done or made before. It’s not really a struggle, it’s an opportunity for growth. “CHALLENGE ACCEPTED,” as we say and we work hard to achieve the desired look. For example, we recently worked on a music video for Alec Benjamin called “Must have been the Wind” where we had to make the same flat look like two different apartments. Starting with an empty flat, we brought in all the furniture and decor to make it look two different ways. It was a last minute shoot and we only had one day of prep but we made it happen. Another challenge from this year was when we had to get a basketball hoop and bleachers up to the roof of a parking garage for a music video by FEFE & Leeroy, Ft. Aloe Blacc called “Out of Love.” Accomplishing challenges and delivering for our clients is very fulfilling to us and what we have come to enjoy most about what we do.
We’d love to hear more about your business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
There is a production going on everyday in LA so it’s a great place for businesses like ours. We would absolutely recommend someone who is just starting out to start in LA.
