Meet Daniel Brown of Rezonance in Long Beach

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Brown.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Daniel. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have always been a visionary. Even as a child, I would often play with my imagination instead of toys. As an adult, I found that I’d been taught to suppress that creative energy. I went to school, got a job, smiled less, drank more and let my visions dim. But my soul would not let me be content there. I knew this wasn’t all I was here for. I felt so out of place, so uncomfortable on that path. Something had to change and I realized that it was me. I had to change.

I needed a way out. I was able to realize what I didn’t want in life but I had no real idea of what I did want. Initially, I started exploring different ways of living. I attended healing events, performances, personal development courses, yoga and art classes. I reignited my need for knowledge and read book after book on financial literacy, the law of attraction, quantum physics, esoteric science, spirituality, Taoism, frequency mechanics and more. I started asking the people I met about happiness, and I truly listened to their answers. Through this process of asking and answering, I came to understand that the answers I sought were never outside of me. The answers weren’t in books or classes or certain events, nor were they in other people. I had to go inward. This understanding kick-started a process of intense self-discovery. As I came to know myself, I started to encounter others who were also on that journey. Many adventures followed and through these experiences I encountered Mentors, Guides, and Teachers who equipped me with the tools of self-exploration that I currently use. Ultimately, the books, events, classes and experiences that I engaged with provided me with the tools for further self-discovery. The most notable being my trainings as a Reiki practitioner.

Reconnecting with my intuition and developing it as a communication channel has been one of the biggest assets in my journey. Tanai, my Reiki Master helped me reconnect with my intuition. Through her guidance, I’ve been able to develop a deep and complete trust in myself and my abilities. This process has also deeply shifted my definition of success and strengthened my knowledge that I will achieve it. I have found my passion, using my gifts around the world to bring healing and awareness to those who seek it. As a healer, I choose to intentionally hold space for the Black community by offering my gifts at a deeply discounted cost as well as providing free public sessions in my local community. This is important to me because I’ve seen many cases where Black people are forced to experience one trauma after another on a daily basis without any emotional, mental, or spiritual support (outside of religion) being provided for the community in an accessible manner. By rooting myself in my community, I am ensuring that the healing of self that I have experienced is available to those that I love, care about and want to see succeed.

Has it been a smooth road?
Yes, the road has been smooth, it’s also been rocky. The road has been exhilarating, terrifying, painful and purposeful. My journey has embodied the duality of existence, one can not exist without the other. I have stared contrast and conflict in the face. I have overcome struggles unique to my experience and struggles that countless others have overcome before me. But most importantly, I’ve grown through these moments of contrast. I struggled with deep depression, grief, anxiety and crippling fear. I felt trapped in an environment that demanded my suffering and I gave it over and over and over again. At what some would call my worst, I questioned my very existence and went to great lengths to do something about it. But like the ocean, you can only see this turmoil from very close, the further away you get, the more my surface looks smooth and unbroken.

Ultimately I’d simply like to draw attention to the issues of racism, discrimination, violence, and overall trauma that is present in this country’s system on every level from the micro to the macro. From intimate personal displays of discrimination in a grocery store that my people don’t own as I get followed around by security and accused of stealing based on my appearance. In my own neighborhood. To the over policing and the disproportionate incarceration of Black men and their bodies. To living in a community ravaged by the war on drugs, still recovering, still healing and that healing being grossly stunted by the “legalization” of cannabis. And the exclusion of Black people in this multimillion dollar market. My community having to reconcile with the fact that our families are still punished for a “crime” that should have never been outlawed in the first place. Meanwhile, white men continue to make a profit off of what Black men have been locked up for. Human trafficking is still affecting our Black women. Black men continue to be incarcerated without aid and Black communities continue to bleed. Our strength shows when despite all this Black is still beautiful, still excellent and still Magical in every way. All in all, during my journey to who and where I am now I’ve faced and overcome the same things all Black people face and overcome. A societal system built to destroy us.

And yet I have found home, love, peace and joy in this same world. Striving for better, thriving because of the prayers of my ancestors. I have found a Tribe of all different backgrounds, ethnicities, and personalities. All seeking to add a little more light to the world we share. We have an important aspect in common and it’s that we let our troubles Sharpen us. Whatever happens we choose to Grow through it. This keeps us moving in the same direction even as we walk our individual paths.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Rezonance story. Tell us more about the business.
My company Rezonance is built around my personal desire to put high frequency, high vibrational communication global. Rezonance represents my ability to be a conduit and the ways I share what I’ve learned and what I continue to learn with my community. My brand has given me the opportunity operate in an environment designed to facilitate growth. I bridge my motivation, my goals and my vision through public and private reiki sessions. I bring the same level of intention into every aspect of the experience from the sounds to the scents, to the plants and the lighting, every session is unique and that is what we are known for. I am also developing different healing mediums such as a sound-based experience involving binaural beats and powerful affirmations which will soon be available on YouTube as well as live sessions. This is just one of the ways that we, as a brand, imbue ingenuity, creativity and intention into what we do. We specialize in creating unique intimate moments of healing no matter of our location. As a company, we are most proud of the healing we get to be a part of, the inspiring feedback, and the intentional way we choose to communicate with each other and our community. We communicate with love first and foremost and that sets the precedent for all that follows.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
As the human collective continues to expand our awareness. Our understanding of energy and the various forms it can take in our lives deepens. I believe that the need for what energetic healers can provide will only increase. As the collective knowledge shifts, energy healers will be able to hold space for others. With the help of these healers, people will lean into the journey of self re-discovery. There will be times where they just need a safe space to exist with people who won’t judge them on where they are on their journey. I want to hold that space. I see self-discovery becoming a process that all people are conscious of and respect. I want to facilitate greater use of the healing methods of our ancestors. They are gradually resurfacing in the present day in the hands of their descendants and we are just rediscovering these methods. I see the collective desire to heal overriding the desire to create pain. More and more, people are coming to the realization that we are responsible for our own happiness or sorrow. We don’t have to react. We can instead choose how to respond to every situation in our lives. It’s not always easy but it is always possible. With this upsurge of mental, emotional, physical, & spiritual growth comes a need for people who can hold space for and help facilitate this growth. I see Rezonance spearheading this budding industry and dominating it with love and intention. Rezonance will shift the paradigm within the next five years.
