Claunesha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Initially, making candles was just an aversion from my daily routine. I never thought it would actually become therapeutic and stress-relieving. It engaged my mind, body, and emotions to perform one, simple, task. But, what was more profound came after I lit the candle and sat still in its light. My mind and emotions became still as well. I began to think and imagine a life of peace and tranquility. Without realizing it, I was on a daily journey of transformation. I stumbled on a path to change lives in the most simplistic way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Every day has different challenges and not always smooth. Being a business owner means that you have to be comfortable with wearing multiple hats and meeting several deadlines while putting on a smile and a spirit of excellence to reach your one goal which is to make your customer happy with their experience.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Being a candle maker is my safe place. I can express my emotions, I can play, and I can connect with people throughout all walks of life. I am most proud that I can make something that can change the way people feel almost immediately.
What matters most to you?
Friendships, relationships, time, memories, and experiences are what truly matters in life. It’s those people and things that can never be replaced, even if you try. Purpose is another important aspect of life because, without purpose, you’d feel empty and void of everything.
