Meet Cissy and Larry Cabrera of Studio Fit in Pico Rivera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cissy and Larry Cabrera.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Both our parents are entrepreneurs that instilled the values and drive to become entrepreneurs, ourselves. Larry and I started StudioFit because Cissy was an avid spinner and was looking for the boutique style of indoor spinning that is so popular on the west side. There are a lot of options for a boutique studio experience in areas outside of our own community, and we wanted to bring a little bit of the west side boutique experience to our own community, where you’ll find a workout that is not only efficient and fun, but also where you part of a community that supports your fitness journey.

Has it been a smooth road?
Every business has its challenges and uphill battles – ours has been to find the clientele that understands and appreciates the boutique style of fitness program and the higher cost attached to it. Most people think they could be doing the same thing free at their gym.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Studio Fit story. Tell us more about the business.
StudioFit is an official Spinning® studio in Pico Rivera.

We believe in what we do – our instructors work hard to make sure that the energy in each of their classes is extraordinary.

We are proud to be offering something that is really different from what you would experience at your big box gym, we want people to experience a fitness class that they will remember. We are trying to change the attitude of how fitness is viewed.

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Boutique indoor cycling classes are very popular and we are part of a booming health club industry that brings in over 30 billion a year collectively, according to data from IBISWorld.

With people having busier lives and heavy demands on their schedule – they will be looking for workouts that are efficient and easy to schedule into their busy schedules.

With our online reservation system, people can schedule their workouts a month out and commit to themselves, to their peers in their classes, or workout buddies and make real healthy choices.
