Meet Ciara Quarles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ciara Quarles. 

Ciara, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My story begins back in 2020, I was a recent college graduate and at the time I was looking for work to prepare for the next steps to start a career. I was attending many job interviews and with no income, I was cleaning homes and driving for Uber Eats. My journey did not start easily, during that time I was saving a lot of money by making my own products, I understood and knew at the time about healing myself by using essential oils and natural butters and balms instead of store-bought products. I used to create my own toothpaste, face washes, body scrubs, and sanitizer products. While I was cleaning homes, I even made my own cleansing products from natural oils to save money. From there I decided to create CBD-infused products and body butters. I researched and taught myself the proper methods to make handcrafted DIY-style products. I would send the items I created to friends and family, they showed tremendous support and interest, from there I decided to invest in myself and work on product labeling and design, create a website, make an Etsy account, use social media platforms and really get the word out there with what I was doing. I enjoy setting up vendor booths across Los Angeles, I love talking face-to-face with people so they can experience the healing aspects of my products. I have come a long way from where I started, I have my products placed in bookstores, spiritual stores, health and wellness offices, and nail shops. I continue to spread the word and I’m willing to put in the time and work to do so. I have goals for myself, and I am continuing to break out of limited beliefs to bring my business to light and to let it shine. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Over the course of the last couple of years I have had obstacles, but I never let them break me. There were times when I had to start over and go back to the drawing board with how I presented my products, and what my business vision looked like. Friendships changed over the years, lack of true support, business partnerships ran its course, so many obstacles in the way. At moments when I thought I was going to give up on my business I was reminded by my loved ones how important my business is and how others are inspired by what I do. 

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I describe myself as a creator and a healer, I am a firm believer of natural healing and energetic work. My work includes making handcrafted curated aromatherapy healing products from plants, herbs, butters, and essential oils. I specialize in products such as CBD healing balms, tinctures, and massage oils. I also handcraft candles that are specifically infused with activated gemstones herbs and essential oil blends that heal mood disorders, stress, and body ailments. I create skincare products using all-natural ingredients and all things natural wellness to include body butters, room sprays, soaps, salt blends, and cleansing sprays. I am certified in Reiki healing and provide those services as well. I enjoy sound healing, breathwork, meditation, and massage therapy. I am currently taking a certification course on alternative and holistic therapies online to provide those services in the near future. I am mostly proud of the fact that I am self-taught. I know that I have a natural gift of blending different oils not only for their scent but for their healing properties as well. 

I am not really a flashy person, I am not shy at all and enjoy telling others what I do, but I am not huge on oversaturation. I want people to feel genuineness coming from me. I’ve always tried to keep that, I like the handcrafted, homemade aspect of my products and although I want to be bigger and continue to grow, I remind myself why I got started and that is to help others heal. 

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I’ve always considered myself a lucky person. In life, I have been able to overcome obstacles and push forward through it almost as if those obstacles never happened. I try to always be one step ahead and stay positive. I am a future thinker because you honestly just never know. Being a free spirit has always led me to not really care so much and just live life free and to just express myself, I had to learn that as I got older. In business, I have worked hard to get where I am, but luck has been there to help along the way, I put all of my investment into my own business my time, money, and energy. I sometimes have moments where I just don’t know how I can do it, but I get it done and make it happen.
