Meet Charles X

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles X.

Charles X is a Los Angeles native who is beginning to make strides in the international spotlight. Starting music at a young age and having strong roots in soul, hip-hop, rock and r&b music, X had no problem with writing and recording three albums in three years (Revolution and the Day After (2015), Sounds of the Yesteryear (2016) and Peace (2017)), when he moved to Paris to work with a producer. His albums and videos have landed him on major press like MTV, BET, Rolling Stones, Vanity Fair, Telerama, etc.. He is now releasing his 4th album, “E.I.D²” coming Jan18th.

Already a seasoned vet at such a young age, “We can say that he is a real showman who seems to have lived all his life on stage” -Goosebumps fr. Being familiar with the stage at the young age of 12 and touring with such acts as Method Man and Redman, Pharcyde, the Cranberries and Liv Warfield, Charles X’s music and concert blend pop, hip hop, jazz, soul, and rock, cleverly appropriating genres with continuous creativity. Crooner and songwriter, Charles X alternates sharp phrasing and luminous melodic arrangements, creating music that is concise and effective. Charles has over 2 Million Streams across his entire catalogue and a cult-like following of fans who say he is bringing back good music.

With his bouncy neo-nostalgic melodies and influence of great entertainers and activists before him, X is a blast of the past sent here to open and show the door of future sounds and feelings through the simplicity of the old ways. Still fresh enough for the kids but classy enough to take home to your mother, his music helps bring heart and soul back to the people. With his golden voice, big smile and even bigger hugs are hard not to be engulfed in the blue and violet aura that is, Charles X.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest struggle of my career has been trying to reach the big stage whilst keeping my music rights and my soul. Being the outspoken guy who goes against the norm can definitely slow things down. I’d rather be the turtle than the hare anyhow.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.
I am music! The thing I’m most proud of is the fact that I have already done so much overseas and the only way I could have accomplished that was by being an amazing showman if I can say so myself.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment for me was when I decided to go global with music and do things for myself. It took some time (a year and some change), but now I have two new albums finished and a brand new team!
