Today we’d like to introduce you to Brigitte Alcantara.
Hi Brigitte, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am a Southern California native, whose roots are both in LA and San Diego. I am a creative spirit with a soulful heart. I have come into a place in my life where I really appreciate the woman I have grown into. The peaks and valleys of lessons learned and adjusting my crown along the way. I love being a woman of the world, and that I am in a place where I can travel for work and pleasure. I am from humble beginnings who faced a lot growing up. I went to a different school every year of my life until the 7th grade. My strength, resiliency, and adapatabliity is my back bone from a youth of chaos and trauma. Thank God I felt love from my family and had that to lean on through life’s challenges as a youth.
I love learning, progress, and lifting hearts along the way. Most of my adulthood has been in LA. I graduated from UCLA and discovered the bohemian life in Venice. Venice was my home for 20 years. I found healing and discovery of self there. Venic will always be home for me. I created stability and a community that means so much to me. I started my first busines in Venice/ABK at 27. We were the first Pilates/Spinning studio on the westside of LA. A very exhilarating time to be young and at the forefront of boutique wellness. A community that I treasured and adored for 20 years. I have been working as an entrepreneur since I was 14. I began modeling at 14, fashion, print, runway. I LOVE Fashion, music, dance, singing and a bit of DJ’g when it finds me.
Most days I begin my day with gratitude. Upon wakeup I always say three things that I am grateful for. A lil prayer to set the day with grace and kindness. It’s not always easy to do in these sign of the times but it is a choice that I choose to make everyday.
Thank you for the opportunity to share my story!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Unfortunately, the obstacles and challenges of growing up in chaos and family trauma has been the most difficult to overcome for me. Long and winding road to recover, self worth, authenticity, self love and respect has been a healing journey my whole life. I am so grateful that I have had this intuitive self, I call her, “Queen Knowing” guiding me along the way. I could have fallen through the cracks so many times. My Queen Knowing chimed in and took over so many times when I felt like giving up and through all the poor choices I had to pick myself up from. Through all of it, I realized…..I didn’t come this far to come this far. My dreams of music, finding my voice, and lifting hearts has led me to embracing my crown and loving myself more and more along the way. I am so thankful I didn’t give up or settle for things and people that just didn’t deserve me. I Leo that I feel that I am now in a place where I feel aligned, living , and honoring my values, principles, and best Queen Knowing self.
