Meet Brenda Ochoa of The Good Skin Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Ochoa.

Hi Brenda, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I got started in the industry a little bit after the pandemic in late 2021 and graduated as an Esthetician in 2022. But my passion for skin and helping women feel their best has always been in me watching my mother as a hairdresser for over 30 years. I knew being of service in my community was something I always wanted to do. In my early 20’s I developed adult acne from all the stress and junk food I was eating and I could not get it cleared for the life of me! Until I got a facial one day, my skin started to look better! I decided to look up all the ingredients that could help me fight this acne. I cleaned up my diet and actually made myself a good skincare routine and within 4-6 months my acne had gone away! I was still left with a couple of scars but those were the least of my worries then. I knew if I could clear my own skin I could do the same for others. I opened up The Good Skin Studio right after graduating in 2022 in a tiny room in my mother’s salon. I knew that as an esthetician with the power of touch and some powerful science backed ingredients I would be able to help my community feel their best, regain their confidence and live fully again! That has been my mission and that mission continues to develop with anti-aging treatments, acne treatments and much more with my community as top of mind in everything I do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t always been so smooth, I got pregnant during esthetician school and I thought that maybe I should quit and get a regular stable job for me and my baby. Thankfully I have a supportive partner and family that encouraged me to continue no matter what. I was 6 months pregnant trying to build out my dreams with the help of my family. Ended up giving birth 4 months later and couldn’t get started right away as motherhood called. The birth of my baby was not the smoothest either and it left me fighting for my life after a c-section. I took 5 months off to recover and learn to be a mom at the same time. Finally was able to get in the treatment room to start taking clients and slowly but surely build my clientele. And now we are here in a bigger space, with a much clearer vision and able to help so many women feel their best and look their best and heal their skin barrier!

We’ve been impressed with The Good Skin Studio, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At the Good Skin Studio we specialize in treating Acne, Healing the skin barrier, Anti-Aging treatments, Dermaplane, waxing and amazing Lash Lifts! What sets the Good Skin Studio apart is that we lead with skin barrier health first, helping people that have rosacea, inflamed acne, dehydrated skin and/or fine lines and wrinkles and bring the skin back to normal through guiding at home skincare as well as in house treatments like chemical peels, nano-needle treatments, enzymes, etc. You can leave with here with a roadmap to a much healthier barrier as well as a stunning lash lift that will have you feeling confident about where your skin is going and lashes that will have you saying “Yes, I woke up like this!”

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that our communities always band together to help one another and are supportive of small businesses. I have found that when you are of service to your community and help them achieve their desired results, the support I receive as a small business grows tenfold with referrals.
