Thanks for sharing your story with us Bory. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I and my business partner aka business wife Robert Cardenaz have been styling as a duo for the past 7 years. We met on a Style Network show called “How Do I Look”. We share the same passion for fashion, and were raised with similar morals and hard work ethics. Priding ourselves on not just having a great eye and love for fashion, but also an extensive knowledge of and background in fashion history, colors, textures, and design. With an unrivaled ability to infuse the looks seen on runways, the streets, vintage films, and popular media into their designs, Robert and I are able to piece together personal looks for their clients that are bold, powerful, and completely their own.
As duo, we are also the founders of a luxury clothing rental studio called THE STYLE LIST LA (TSL-LA). Located at 7805 West Sunset Blvd CA 90046, THE STYLE LIST is conveniently based in Hollywood. Our style haus offers an impressive line-up of high-end brands, as well as local and international designers for men and women. We wanted to create a friendly and affordable place for costumer designers, wardrobe stylists, and their personal clients to obtain their couture needs. We house a carefully curated selection of quality hand selected luxury clothing, shoes, and accessories for men and women to rent for TV/film, editorials, music videos, and special events. Has it been a smooth road?
There are always going to be struggles along the journey of becoming an entrepreneur, but because we are so passionate about what we do and what we’ve created, the challenges we face we perceived as the enlightenment part of our growth process.
One of the biggest obstacles we were faced with was in the beginning when we were trying to find the right business partners. We started the idea of the business with multiple potential people who we thought shared the same passion about the business we did, but Robert and I soon found out that it takes more than just passionate about an idea. Hard work, dedication, diligence, having the same principles and work ethics and lastly loyalty to each other played important roles that lead to Robert and I to being the last 2 men standing out of the 4 potential business partners who began the journey with us.
Another struggle was not knowing where to even begin! There is no better business course you can take than when you start your own business. When we first began, we were excited, but also extremely nervous and scared. It was all new to us, we didn’t know where to start with executing our business idea. I had taken some business classes during my college years, but had no recollection to what I learned close to a decade ago.
Thankfully there were an abundant amount of non-profit resources out there that supported small business, and trust me we tapped into all of them. Associations such as The Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE LA and legal zoom.com help us build our startup.
Last but not least there’s the constant financial roller coaster as well. You’re warned that it takes at least 2-3 years before you begin to see profit in any new business, but no tell you the emotional fear that comes with it. To maintain our finances Robert and I continue to still work as stylists. We are current working E! News and Let’s Make Deal.

THE STYLE LIST was started by two stylists from Los Angeles who wanted to create a friendly and affordable place for costume designers, wardrobe stylists, and the everyday fashion enthusiasts to obtain their couture needs. We house a carefully curated selection of quality hand selected luxury clothing, shoes, and accessories for men and women to rent for TV/film, music videos, editorials, and special events.
We offer in-house styling services and if you are unable to make it to the studio one of our talented stylists can come to you.
What we are most proud of quality of clothes we offer to our clients. Our studio not only offers luxury brands, but also one of a kind pieces from local and international designers. We work diligently to build relationships with our designers and our client. Being stylists ourselves, we understand how difficult it can be to find quality garments for an affordable price. We cater to that demand! This is also what set us apart from our competitors
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
My favorite thing about LA is how it’s centrally located between the beaches, the mountains, the forest and the desert. Being surrounded by nature and its different element is vital to me. It’s how I escape from my hectic life as a driven career woman.
The thing I dislike most about LA is its traffic. I’m an impatient person, sitting in traffic drives me nuts!
