Today we’d like to introduce you to Boris Ackerman.
Hi Boris, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I discovered my fascination with plastic surgery early in my medical education. The idea of combining art with surgical techniques captured my imagination
After finishing my plastic surgery residency, I was recruited by two well-known plastic surgeons, one in Beverly Hills and another in Newport Beach. After a few years keeping the two offices, it became clear to me that I belong in Newport Beach. Facial rejuvenation surgery has always fascinated me. Early in my career I traveled world-wide learning “best practices” from leaders in the field.
Over time, my own practice has evolved. I developed a Center of Excellence in Facial Rejuvenation Surgery here in Newport Beach, becoming one of the leaders in this field. Patients travel far and wide to seek me out for Deep Plane Facelift. I am a published author and a known authority on Deep Plane Facelift. I am a frequent invited presenter at various national and international medical conferences.
As a co-director of Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, I teach advanced facial rejuvenation surgery to other Plastic Surgeons, furthering the excellence of our specialty. My wife and I are involved in organizations helping children with special needs and in greyhound dog rescues.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road to success often has bumps in the road. Early in my career, the challenge has been to to wear too many hats; dealing with the business matters of running the practice, managing employees and having a busy surgical schedule. Once I figured out the art of delegating certain tasks to trusted managers, all I had to do is concentrate on excellence in my surgical results.

My plastic surgery practice is dedicated to Advanced Facial Rejuvenation Surgery. I am a Medical Director of Newport Beach Laser and Plastic Surgery Center, where we host visiting plastic surgeons wishing to learn my facelift technique. Additionally, I am a Co-Director of Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship, teaching younger surgeons advanced methods of facial rejuvenation surgery.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
To run a successful practice, one has to train, support and develop staff members that can provide excellent service in our practice. This collaboration allows for the best patient experience, from the first encounter with our office, until they are discharged from our care many months later.
