Today we’d like to introduce you to Blair Schoolhouse.
Blair, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started my chiropractic practice back in 2014 in Culver City. I am a native Southern Californian, and I grew up around the Westside of Los Angeles. I attended California State University Northridge, and received my BS in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. After I graduated, I worked as a PT aide at Insight Physical Therapy before I attended Chiropractic School. I attended Southern California University of Health Sciences for my doctorate of chiropractic. I have been in business for over three years, and I have been enjoying the organic process of starting my business from the ground up. Today, I enjoy working with my patients, and offering them the most comprehensive alternative health care option available in the Westside of Los Angeles. I understand that people have many questions regarding their own health, and that is why I do my due diligence to answer them as best as I can at my office.
Has it been a smooth road?
I have traveled the road less traveled for pretty much all of my life. As a child, I was diagnosed with Dyslexia and school was not particularly easy for me as it was for others. Instead of applying that diagnosis in a negative way, I used it to push me farther than I could have ever imagined, and to this day I still use that fire to fuel me throughout my education and during the early stages of my practice. As I look back, I don’t think of my struggles in a particularly negative way but as an important catalyst to who I am today.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I operate a chiropractic business in Culver City, and I am a doctor of chiropractic. I specialize in comprehensive alternative health care which includes chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, nutritional counseling, and sports rehab. I am pride myself giving patients an all-inclusive treatment facility in a natural environment that does not feel like a sterile medical office. I want my patient’s to relax like if they were at home, which gives them the opportunity to decompress from life’s stresses. What separates me from other chiropractors is that I want to work with each individual one on one, no matter how long it takes, versus having a revolving door mentality like some clinics do. I want to get know my patient’s better, and the only way to do that is to give them want they want…which is being there for them.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I believe that my city, Los Angeles, which I have called home all my life deserves a business like mine. I feel that they are so many people who are afraid maybe even intimidated by going to their doctors. I want to erase that stigma, and give people an opportunity to just be themselves while they are here at my chiropractic office. I think our city just need more laid back establishments, something which goes back to my roots as a Californian. Life sometimes can go so fast, we need to find more sanctuaries than offices.
