Meet Benjamin Dynes of Austin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin Dynes.

Hi Benjamin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started at Otis College of Art and Design and I graduated with a BFA in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design / minor in Digital Media. Despite having 2 unpaid internships I struggled to find work in graphic design after I graduated during the pandemic. After 7 months of struggling to find work in the pandemic I started to work at a company called Pacific Coast Sportswear. I was a Production Graphic Designer who would create jerseys for high school teams and would set them up to be produced. After 7 months I was layed off, but got a new job as a junior graphic designer in corporate marketing at one of the best mortgage companies in the United States, PRMG. I have worked there for over 2 years and got promoted to the “graphic designer” position and still work at the company. I have attended multiple marketing meetings, communicated with loan officers, branch managers, and account executives all across the county, and created advertising campaigns or custom advertisements. These include flyers, custom emails, social media posts, billboards, yard signs, door hangers, posters, and much more. I am still working at PRMG full time remotely from Austin Texas and trying to climb up that corporate ladder!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not. I’ve had to work longer hours than a lot of individuals, and I graduated during the pandemic.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in marketing and create advertising campaigns or custom advertisements for people. I’m most proud of the advertising campaigns and seeing the results of my hard work throughout the years. For example, PRMG was ranked as one of the top 10 Mortgage companies in Mortgage Executive Magazine two years in a row. I make almost all the advertisements for retail and Wholesale and when I see that my hard work pay off it makes me feel incredible. My hard work, and bold typographic aesthetic make me different from others around me.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
I’m not much of a risk taker.
