Meet Audrey of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Audrey.

Hi Audrey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Audrey, and I’m a professional model and content creator.
Working in creative industries has always been both a passion and a dream of mine.
My journey is unique — I moved from Montreal, Canada to the U.S. on my own. As a new immigrant and a native French speaker, adapting to a new culture and language took a lot of courage and self-belief.
I began modeling in my hometown between the ages of 15 and 18, but later shifted my focus to school and work. I tried signing with agencies, but the competition was fierce. Eventually, I let small comments and doubts get to me, and I stepped away from modeling — even though it remained close to my heart.
A few years later, at 24, after building more confidence and moving to the U.S., I decided to give it another shot. I was fortunate to connect with amazing people in the industry — other models, photographers, and producers — who helped reignite that passion.
Since then, I’ve modeled for fitness and e-commerce brands, expanded into UGC (user-generated content), and even booked major shows like Los Angeles Swim Week and New York Fashion Week 2025 — a true dream come true!
I now work with a variety of clients, primarily in fashion. I handle everything from creative direction to content production and pricing negotiations. Most clients send me clothing items, and I take care of setting up the shoot — whether it’s deciding between iPhone or professional camera, scouting locations, or arranging a glam team if the budget allows.
There are many elements to consider in content creation: the client’s style, deliverables, timelines, and formats. It’s a dynamic and ever-evolving industry — and I’m so grateful to have carved out a place in it and to now generate income doing what I love.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Of course, there have been struggles along the way. I believe that no matter the field, there will always be ups and downs and challenges to face — especially when you’re pursuing something that isn’t considered “common” or traditional.
What truly helped me was building confidence within myself and learning to trust that confidence more and more over time.
I think another big factor is that I’m naturally very outgoing, and that’s helped me a lot in this journey. But even with that, I had to push past moments of self-doubt — especially with my accent. I had to remind myself not to get shy or hold back, and just keep showing up.
I’ve also learned that my kindness is one of my greatest strengths in this industry. It’s something I always lead with, and it’s helped me form genuine connections and earn trust.
Putting yourself out there isn’t easy. Some people won’t understand it; some might see it as bold or even call it courageous. But what I’ve learned is this: you have to live for yourself and give it your best shot.
Because at the end of the day, the pain of not going after your dreams is far greater than the pain of knowing you tried.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a **professional model and content creator**, and alongside that, I also work in **business administration**. When I first moved to the U.S. from Canada, I started as an executive assistant at a law firm, and later transitioned to another company in a similar role. Now, I continue to work in admin while actively growing my social media presence and collaborating with brands as both a model and content creator.

What **sets me apart** is that I’m a **freelance model** who handles the **entire creative direction** of my shoots — from scouting locations, planning angles, managing timelines and deliverables, to negotiating with brands. Thanks to my background in business, I bring a level of professionalism, organization, and strategy to my creative work that’s not always common in the modeling world.

I’d say I **specialize in e-commerce shoots**, as that’s where I’ve gained the most experience. I’ve also worked with brands not just as talent, but behind the scenes — helping to book other models and lead creative direction for campaigns. That dual perspective really helps me understand what brands need and how to deliver it effectively.

One of the things I’m **most proud of** is walking the runway at **New York Fashion Week 2025** for two incredible designers: **Chavelis Playhouse** and **Bad Sisters**. As someone who grew up in Quebec City — where there aren’t many runway opportunities — walking a major fashion week was a lifelong dream. I’ll never forget the moment I found out I was cast… my inner little girl was literally jumping around the house with excitement, knowing I was about to hop on a plane to make that dream come true!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
haven’t had any official mentors, but I definitely draw a lot of inspiration from seeing other models on Instagram — especially those who are not only successful in modeling but have also become entrepreneurs and creators in their own unique ways.
Since moving to LA, I’ve had the chance to meet so many people in the creative industry. Fun fact: I actually studied Executive Production for the Creative Industries at McGill University — that’s what I went to school for, and it’s exciting to now be working in a space that aligns so closely with what I studied.
The industry here in LA has been incredibly welcoming. There are people from all over the world, and what I love most is the supportive energy. Rather than feeling competitive, I’ve found that most people are genuinely open to helping each other — it’s a refreshing and encouraging environment to grow in.

Most importantly, my husband is my biggest supporter he’s always motivating me to seize opportunities and make projects happen! So I will give him credits for his amazing support.

Also I’ve met a good friend now his name is Isidro Lopez and he’s a photographer and videographer and we’ve been working together on many projects! He’s also worked with my husband on other projects and now I consider him a good friend!
