Meet Angela Stubbs of Los Angeles

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angela Stubbs

Hi Angela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I began my professional journey in the entertainment industry, leveraging my background in film and screenwriting, complemented by two MFAs in poetry and fiction. This foundation allowed me to work in marketing roles within the entertainment sector, where I honed my storytelling and creative skills.

After earning my second MFA, I felt a calling to the health and wellness arena. This led me to InsightLA, a Buddhist nonprofit organization offering meditation programs, where I served as the Digital Marketing Director. My time there deepened my appreciation for mindfulness and the importance of mental well-being.

The onset of the COVID-19 pandemic inspired me to establish my own venture, Mindful Media, which I operated for several years. Through this endeavor, I aimed to merge my marketing expertise with a passion for promoting health and wellness. Subsequently, I joined Winona, a telehealth company dedicated to supporting women through menopause, where I served as the Head of PR for nearly three years. This role reinforced my commitment to championing women’s health and amplifying voices that often go unheard.

On January 10, 2025, I launched my latest venture, Pitch Perfect Media, a PR and event management company specializing in the health and wellness sector. At Pitch Perfect Media, we transform stories into powerful narratives that connect and inspire. My background in writing profoundly informs my approach to PR, emphasizing storytelling and strategic communication.

Throughout my career, I have remained dedicated to supporting female entrepreneurs and businesses, striving to provide a platform for those seeking a voice. My journey reflects a seamless blend of arts, health, and empowerment, underscoring my belief in the transformative power of storytelling across diverse industries.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Transitioning from the entertainment industry to the health and wellness sector has been a gradual and deliberate journey, requiring patience and adaptability. One of the primary challenges was demonstrating to clients that the skills I developed in entertainment—particularly in storytelling and audience engagement—are transferable and valuable across industries. It’s essential to recognize that while marketing and public relations share similarities, they operate in distinct spaces with unique objectives and strategies. Marketing focuses on promoting products or services to drive sales, whereas public relations centers on maintaining a positive reputation and managing communication between an organization and its stakeholders.

Throughout this transition, I’ve emphasized the importance of self-compassion and continuous learning. Each experience has contributed to my growth, enabling me to support clients effectively in building their brands. My passion for connecting with people and amplifying their stories has been a driving force, allowing me to excel in helping clients gain visibility and recognition.

I firmly believe that everyone I encounter has something to teach me. By remaining open to learning and staying humble, I strive to serve my clients with integrity and dedication. Launching a new business invariably presents challenges, but each obstacle is an opportunity to adapt, innovate, and better meet the needs of those I support.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My professional journey is distinguished by a unique blend of experiences in entertainment, advanced literary education, and a deep commitment to mindfulness practices. With two decades in the entertainment industry, I’ve cultivated resilience and determination, essential traits that have propelled me through various challenges and successes.

My academic pursuits in poetry and fiction, enriched by a Buddhist contemplative background, have profoundly influenced my approach to storytelling. This foundation enables me to craft compelling narratives that resonate deeply with audiences, a skill that is invaluable in public relations. Storytelling is a powerful tool in PR, shaping public perceptions, building brand identities, and forging connections with audiences.

Incorporating meditation into my daily life has been transformative, providing stability and calm, and enhancing my decision-making abilities. Meditation offers a rubric for how to deal with most situations thrown at you, and nowhere has this been more useful for me than in business. This mindfulness practice informs my interactions with clients, the content I create, and the opportunities I pursue, ensuring that my work is thoughtful and impactful.

A highlight of my career was my tenure at Winona, where I established a public relations department from the ground up. Supporting women in midlife, particularly those navigating perimenopause and menopause, was a deeply rewarding experience. I am passionate about elevating women’s voices, including those in the LGBTQ+ community, and championing female entrepreneurs.

What sets me apart is the integration of my entertainment industry experience, literary expertise, and contemplative practices. This combination allows me to approach public relations with a unique perspective, blending creativity, empathy, and strategic thinking to support and amplify my clients’ narratives effectively.

How do you think about happiness?
Several things make me happy. Animals bring me so much joy, especially my four beloved pets. They offer unconditional love and acceptance, and I believe that more than humans, animals are pure in their intentions and hearts.

I am happiest when I’m inspired. My close friends inspire me with their genuine hearts and unwavering commitment to our friendships. My family, of course, is another cornerstone of my happiness. There is also someone very special in my life who has been a significant source of inspiration for my writing—much of my work wouldn’t exist without her influence, and that brings me immense joy.

I also find happiness in working with passionate people. It doesn’t matter what the topic is—seeing others deeply invested in their work inspires me immensely. Helping others, whether by supporting their businesses or passions, brings me a profound sense of fulfillment.

Travel, meditation, and food are also at the top of my list. While I don’t cook often, I’m inspired by people who pour love into their cooking. You can always feel the care and passion in a dish prepared by someone who truly loves to cook.

Each of these things contributes to my happiness in a unique and meaningful way.
