Meet Angel Jones of Signature Related Plus

Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Jones.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am originally from Savannah, Georgia. God blessed me with two awesome, hardworking and loving Grandmothers. My grandma Elise also known as Mamie taught me how to clean very well. At the age of eight, I knew how to clean a stove and the teapot on the stove better than some adults. I was getting paid to do so.

My grandmother Lillie Mae was an entrepreneur, she made and sold peanuts, sweet potato pies and Bread pudding. She and I drove around the East and Westside of Savannah selling her products. Grandma was the driver; I was her Salesgirl. At the end of the day, she paid me for my challenging work.

I moved to Los Angeles, California at the age of 11 to live with Grandma Elise. My grandma Elise was a Housekeeper working in a hospital, but she also sold clothes, shoes, different accessories to make ends meet. I had the opportunity of watching her go buy her products, listen to her sales pitch and watch her make money.

I am a single parent of three beautiful children: Ajanae Mitchell (23), Melvin Carnell Jr. (19), and Ahmad Carnell (17). My children are all grown up now which makes life a little easier. I would like to continue to be a supportive parent. I have one grandson Thomas Broaden III (5). I would like to support him as well. It was not always easy raising three children alone. I have always had a full-time job even today. I needed more money which led me to start a business, Beginning to End Party Planning in 2012. I had a few clients here and there but nothing I could really count on. My daughter and her friends were my assistants. It was a good feeling paying them to help me because it reminded me of the days helping my grandmother. I would clean houses for free while waiting for Beginning to End Party Planning to get some business. I was cleaning for free until a friend of mine said to me, “Angel you clean very well. You clean better than most of these fake house cleaning companies out here.” He suggested I clean for a living, but I thought different because cleaning is my passion. I like doing it. After a lengthy conversation of that is how it is supposed to be, I reconsidered. I decided to open Its All Clean House Cleaning in 2013. It really did not go well because I did not understand the business concept that came along with starting a cleaning business. I decided to put Its All Clean on the back burner. I did my homework and created a successful business plan. In 2018, I re-opened IAC with only two cleaners, my daughter and myself. I build my clientele which allowed me to hire help. We are successfully open and doing business. I have hired many people that have unfortunately come and gone. I understand my expectations are high, but the clients should receive excellent services. I am looking to hire at least two more hardworking, honest cleaners now. At one time, all three of my children worked for me. My oldest son is starting his sophomore year of College at Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta but the other two are gainfully employed with IAC. The plan is for my children to eventually take over IAC.

I wanted to do more. I do not know why but for some reason, I have always wanted to become a Notary Public. I realized we do not have many notaries around and mostly all are mobile notaries only. I decided in 2020 to open a new business, Signature Related Plus while going through the process of becoming a Notary Public. I wanted to supply the opportunities of late office hours, weekend availability, appointments available, walk-ins available during selected times and mobile services. I like being helpful that is a huge part of me being me. Signature Related Plus offers Court Filing, Process Server, Notary Public and Notary Signing Agent services.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely no smooth roads with Its All Clean House Cleaning. I have had times when I really needed help. I had more clients than cleaners. Starting out, it was my daughter and me. My daughter decided to get a second job doing something else. Her other job changed her work schedule leaving me to work IAC alone. It was very frustrating cleaning three-bedroom, two-bath homes alone. I would literally be there all day. The clients understood and didn’t mind because they were impressed with the results.

With Signature Related Plus the hardest part is getting clients. I believe this is because I am new and it will take some time. I am patient and here for the long ride.
