Meet Andrea Romero of Sakura Marketing Firm in Downtown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Romero.

Andrea, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I moved to Los Angeles right after I graduated from The University of Utah with a dream in mind along with the grit and dedication needed to attain that vision. It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been worth it. Each day that passes is a dream coming true. After seven years of being a part of the PR and marketing industry, I took a leap of faith this year to launch my own marketing business in Los Angeles named Sakura Marketing Firm. We have a growing clientele of small businesses such as DESUAR Spa, The Raven Spa, Fry Madness, The Red Chickz, and many others. I also have an online fashion e-commerce named Spring and Fifth that definitely keeps me busy and focused as well.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely not been an easy road, there have been many challenges along the way that taught me about patience, breakthroughs, the power of referrals, discipline, and working through things among many other lessons. The cliches are cliche for a reason, they are so true. When you really want something you’ll make it happen even when it hurts, you learn to be humble and flexible in your approaches.

Some of the struggles that I had stemmed from moving to Los Angeles from another state with no social network to lean on at the beginning, I was looking to get my foot in the door in industries that are highly sought after so I had to learn to be persistent. I had to learn how to differentiate myself from others. It’s definitely a challenge to be a part of a male-dominated industry such as marketing as a minority Latina, but to be honest, I don’t see those as a disadvantage anymore now that I have gone my own direction. They are the strength, the world is changing at least in my experience.

Sakura Marketing Firm – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Sakura Marketing Firm specializes in social media marketing, public relations, and branding among many other great services. We pride ourselves on representing stellar brands that each are a leader within their respective industries. Our clients have been featured on Forbes, The Zoe Report, Confidential Magazine, Voyage LA, and much more through our efforts on their behalf. It’s recognition that they deserve and there is no greater moment for us than creating more success and growth for our clients.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I personally define success by the way that I feel. Am I in the right path to achieve my vision? Am I building and getting a step closer with each passing day?

Each day I like to feel happy, satisfied and fulfilled. I like to know that I gave it my all and did my absolute best where I could. The last part is key, where I could. Not everything is in our control and not every day is easy, but it’s important to feel happy with your path and purpose the majority of the time. Financial well being is, of course, criteria but moving with purpose and a healthy-healthy mindset is a priority.
