Meet Alix Goodwin Olavarria of AGO Wellbeing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alix Goodwin Olavarria.

Hi Alix, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My path to becoming a holistic transformational life coach has been anything but linear. I’ve always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit, which led me down a variety of creative and professional paths. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—actress, e-commerce business owner, real estate agent, and entertainment executive in the film distribution industry. While these careers may seem unrelated, I now realize they were all stepping stones in my personal growth, with each experience contributing to the person I am today.

It cannot be overstated that during these years of career exploration, I also took on the most important (and challenging) job of all: motherhood. My husband and I have two amazing, kind, and beautiful children who are now thriving young adults. As the primary caregiver in our home, I chose to prioritize our children over work, which sometimes meant letting go of a business venture. This decision, while right for our family, wasn’t always easy to accept. I would often berate myself for “giving up” or pivoting too quickly. But through personal development work—and by watching our children grow into self-aware, independent individuals—I’ve come to understand that the choices I made were not only valid, but deeply aligned with my values.

Looking back, I see that all the twists and turns, the trial and error, and even the failures ultimately set me up beautifully for the next chapter of my life: the Empty Nest phase. I’ve always been passionate about psychology, mental health, and personal well-being, but I never considered turning that passion into a career—until this pivotal life transition.

In 2022, I became a Chopra Certified Well-being Coach and Meditation Teacher. Then in 2024, I earned my National Board Certification in Health Coaching. Thanks to technology and word of mouth, I now work with clients from around the world—all from my home.

Ultimately, it was these varied life experiences that led me to the work I do now. I’m proud to say I’ve discovered a true calling: helping others navigate the challenges and changes of midlife with compassion and clarity. Midlife—especially the Empty Nest phase—can feel like an unexpected crisis, full of self-doubt and loss. But it’s also a powerful opportunity for reinvention, rediscovery, and reconnecting with who you truly are. I want to empower others to regain confidence, rediscover a sense of purpose, and thrive in their Second Act.

Every step of my journey has been a piece of the puzzle that led me to this fulfilling role as a holistic life coach.

My father used to say, “Experience is what you get when you don’t get what you want.” While I never found that sentiment particularly nourishing, it was certainly part of my story. I’ve since reframed it: Experience is what you gain in order to build what you want.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, the road has not been smooth. In fact, the most significant challenges I’ve faced came not from external setbacks, but from the internal reckoning that midlife brought. When my children became independent and left for college, I was hit with a wave of uncertainty and emotional disorientation that I hadn’t anticipated. I had spent so many years in service of others—as a mother, a partner, a professional—that I had quietly lost touch with my own identity.

One of the hardest parts of the journey was untangling who I was from the roles I had played. Without those familiar structures, I found myself grappling with questions I didn’t have easy answers to: What do I want now? Who am I becoming? Is it too late to start over?

It was a deeply uncomfortable season, marked by self-doubt, grief, and a profound longing for meaning. But that discomfort became the doorway to transformation. It pushed me to explore practices like meditation and to seek support from a life coach—both of which became catalysts for real change. I began dismantling the limiting beliefs I had carried for decades and slowly rebuilt a relationship with my inner voice and intuition.

So no, the road hasn’t been easy—but I now see every challenge as a turning point. The struggles didn’t block my path; they became the path. And they’ve given me the empathy, resilience, and perspective I now bring to my work with clients.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about AGO Wellbeing?
I created AGO Wellbeing to support individuals—especially women—in navigating one of life’s most transformative transitions: the Second Act. As an Empty Nest coach, I specialize in helping people move through the emotional challenges that often arise when their children leave home. This phase can bring up feelings of loss, loneliness, and a disconnection from purpose. Many of my clients find themselves asking, “What now?”—and my role is to help them answer that question with clarity and confidence.

Through personalized coaching, I guide clients in overcoming self-doubt, anxiety, and the fear that so often comes with change. Together, we explore how to reconnect with who they are at their core, rediscover their passions, and create a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment in midlife and beyond.

What sets me apart is my holistic, integrative approach to transformation— one that is grounded in the tagline: mind-body-spirit wellness. As a Chopra Certified Wellbeing Coach, I draw from the wisdom of Ayurveda, tailoring my guidance to each client’s unique mind-body type, lifestyle, and personal goals. I also teach Mantra Meditation, a powerful and accessible practice that supports mental clarity, emotional resilience, and spiritual connection. One of my guiding principles is: “Slow Yourself Down,” because so many women in midlife are moving too fast—through their days, in their minds, and even in their bodies. We’re often stuck in a loop of doing, caregiving, and overthinking, with little space to simply be. Meditation offers a way back to ourselves. For those craving peace and a way to slow down, meditation becomes a tool for accessing inner wisdom and accelerating personal growth from a place of stillness and self-trust.

I’m most proud of the empowerment my clients experience. Watching someone move from a place of fear or confusion to one of inspired purpose and joy is the most rewarding part of what I do. At AGO Wellbeing, I don’t just offer coaching—I offer a path to reinvention, rediscovery, and renewal.

Above all, I want readers to know this: midlife is not a crisis—it’s an opening. An opportunity to rewrite the narrative, realign with your truth, and thrive in your Second Act with more purpose, presence, and peace than ever before.

Any big plans?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand AGO Wellbeing beyond one-on-one coaching and teaching meditation into more community-based, in-person experiences. I’m currently planning to co-host group workshops in Los Angeles, focused on self-care for Empty Nesters, including those in the earliest stages—what I call the “Launch-Pad Parents”—who are preparing their kids to leave home. This phase can be emotionally overwhelming, and I believe that tending to your own well-being during this transition is not only essential for you, but also supports your children in launching with confidence and independence.

I’m also in the early stages of planning a retreat experience—a restorative, inspiring space where women can reconnect with themselves, access their inner wisdom, and build meaningful community. Both the workshops and retreat will be in-person gatherings, because I believe now more than ever, we need the energy, connection, and healing that happens when women come together face-to-face. We spend too much time with our face, our mind, even our body, in front of technology and are missing out on connecting deeply and experiencing first hand the nourishment that comes from being in the same room, sharing stories, and supporting one another.

Both the retreat and workshops will be done in collaboration with fellow coaches and practitioners, because I believe in the power of shared expertise. Plus its fun! I’m looking forward to creating more opportunities for women to pause, reflect, and rise—and to continue building a supportive space where they can truly thrive in their Second Act.
