Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Pavy Dogan.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Alexis and I am the owner of Shiloh Wellness which is a metaphysical apothecary and spiritual wellness brand.
I feel like this has always been in me. Even looking back in my lineage, my great aunt, and great grandmother both worked with herbs to make tea, tinctures, and salves to heal those in their village back in Trinidad and Tobago. So I feel like I am merely following their footsteps. Three years ago I branched out on Twitter providing spiritual advice with my tarot readings and as my clientele grew, I wanted to help more than just repeat the same message over and over. And that’s when I decided to use my gifts to help the collective. Shiloh wellness was born. We started out with four manifestation and healing intention oils. Now we have 19 in total and more to come. My store has grown so much while only being over for one year. I just recently celebrated the milestone of hitting 1,000 sales back in June and I’m already at 2,300. This journey has taken me somewhere I did not see myself being but I am so grateful for where I am and where I am going to be. I have so much in store and I plan on making next year my best year yet for Shiloh Wellness!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been smooth. Initially when I started my business it was very slow and I did consider just giving up. But last fall out of nowhere, my business sky rocketed and we’ve been breaking personal records every single month.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m actually an insurance agent during the day. So totally night and day compared to what I do online. But I get a great deal of joy with that role too. It’s been a fulfilling six years in this profession and it’s taught me a lot as well in preparation of running my own business as well as how to deal with people on a daily basis.
How do you define success?
Success is when you are in alignment. Meaning when your purpose, peace, and passion are all leading in the same direction. It’s not about sales numbers for me in my role as a business owner or as an employee with my insurance agency that I work for. It’s about the impact I make.
