Meet Alec Cazian of Caz Fabrication

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alec Cazian.

Hi Alec, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started out in my family’s structural steel fabrication shop, then moved to Alaska to work in the marine repair industry. After moving back to LA, I focused on developing my skills in architectural metal and aerospace work. I later became a supervisor at a sculptural fabrication company to build stronger project management and operational planning skills, while taking on side work at night to build a client base and start establishing a company name. Now, I work with a small team of fabricators alongside my family’s business, handling ornamental fabrication along with miscellaneous metal work, artwork commissions, and welding repairs.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Working in an industry dominated by people 20 years older can be difficult, especially when you show up and are assumed to be inexperienced because of your age. Luckily, we’ve been able to consistently deliver quality work across multiple projects, build strong relationships with a few contractors and designers, and see steady growth over the past year.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Caz Fabrication?
We specialize in sculptural steel fabrication and interior accents, and take pride in handling ornamental steel work through our parent company. Our focus is on maintaining a high level of craftsmanship and quality in an industry that has increasingly shifted toward cheap, fast work.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Constant demand for interior accents and new construction has helped push our business forward quickly, along with a strong network of talented designers and developers who consistently feed our team of skilled craftsmen with enough work to stay busy. Traffic between jobs remains one of the bigger hurdles.
