Today we’d like to introduce you to Albert Magana.
Albert, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I was introduced to the set life at the age of 13, while working as an actor on a Budweiser Drink Responsibly Commercial. My passion and hard work in entertainment allowed him to continue working my way up as an actor in the film industry, and becoming a union member of The Screen Actors Guild.
Seeking to expand my knowledge in filmmaking, I attended Saddleback College’s prestigious academic film program, learning the entire process of producing and directing a film from beginning to end. My hands on, on set experience allowed me to become well rounded with working in front and behind the camera. My hard work, dedication, and knowledge has lead me into many key roles on multiple great films as the First and Second Assistant Director, as well as Producer. I not only hold a passion for filmmaking but a love for photography as well. I love telling a story through my lens, and capture beautiful still photos on set and while traveling.
I originally picked up a camera and began shooting friends and family for fun and it eventually lead it to become an ultimate hobby of mine. I now have a passion for photography and love doing it on a daily basis as it food to my soul.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has not been a smooth road, as all great things take time and hard work. If it was easy everyone would be doing it. It takes time, passion, and knowledge. It is an extremely hard industry and there are millions of other talented and hardworking photographers.
