Meet Aaron Colbert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aaron Colbert.

Aaron, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Well, it all started on my birthday when a friend of mines took me to see Mike Epps live for the first time on stage in Studio City, CA. This was all spark that ignited my passion & interest to become a stand-up comedian & off course TV shows like “In Living Color”, “The Jamie Foxx Show” & “Martin”…

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Unfortunately, it hasn’t been an easy path at all. If this journey for success was a smooth & easy road then everybody would be pursuing this dream. I’ve struggled from moving to Atlanta, GA where I attend college and started doing stand-up comedy, from moving back to Los Angeles, CA just to start all over with this stand-up comedy grind. However, I stay mentally & physically positive knowing that one day my dream will become reality….

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a Standup Comedian/Actor I specialize in stand-up comedy of course however, I studied at Second City, Hollywood, CA where I’ve learned how to improv for a few years. Improv has become a major focal point in my career as a stand-up comedian because Second City improv has taught me how to sound more natural when I’m on stage. Getting the opportunity to study at Second City is probably one of the most rewarding experiences in which I’m most proud of.

Honestly, studying at Second City is what sets me apart from others because I took what I’ve learned & created my way of being off the cuff & capturing the audience’s attention from a hilarious perspective.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is my father picking me up on the weekends & taking me to the movies and going to Taco Bell afterwards. And the reason for me mentioning this is because everybody doesn’t have father I their life. And it’s the little things that we take for granted that I cherish the most….
