Meet Reasons Above All in San Bernardino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reasons Above All.

So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
The band originally started up in everyone’s high school years of 2012. Classmates turned into bandmates and Reasons Above All was essentially born. We quickly took to creating our own music and worked hard to eventually record and produce it ourselves. That is basically what we have been doing to this day. There has been a few member changes and a lot of stopping and going as we all struggle to find time in our busy day to day schedules. However, the project has still not died and continues to develop into something new time and time again.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Line up changes for sure. Whenever we’d lose a member, we’d have a hard time finding a replacement, and even when we did we would have to take our time and show them all the preexisting material before moving onto new music. This led to the band basically restarting over and over again and staying stuck on the same few songs for a long time. This would usually stall the band’s creative progress and lead to other members feeling burnt out. There has also been times where the project feels like more hard work and a lot less fun. These kinds of issues come and go as we conquer our own personal hurdles. We have learned how to deal with this challenges pretty well.

Can you give our readers some background on your music?
We create original alternative rock music that incorporates sounds of metal, classic rock, pop, jazz, and blues. We are most proud of the music studio we built that we rehearse and record in all the time. We have a strong DIY work ethic that has led to various members of the band learning how to do much more than playing their instrument. This includes photography, video editing, photo editing, recording, producing, lighting, audio engineering, and merchandise design. Even though we truly enjoy working with others on these types of things, we tend to also have a lot of fun learning how to do things ourselves.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We have some new music thats just about ready to be released as well as some new songs we are writing that are almost ready to be played at our upcoming shows. We just launched our website this year and look forward to adding new merchandise, music, and videos to it later this year.
