Life & Work with Wolfy Neyda

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wolfy Neyda.

Hi Wolfy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I come from a small town in Morocco. Grew up there until age five then my mom packed her bags and brought her kids to a country of hope and opportunities. The more I grew up in America the more I saw myself becoming someone inspiring. I wanted to have a voice, I wanted to inspire and give hope to others. My dream is to become an actress and I have been working constantly on achieving that. I have built myself a following and in two years, I was able to reach 108k followers. I started doing YouTube to show people who I really am and people have been enjoying that. I can’t wait to make it on the big screen to make my momma proud and everyone back home proud. If I could do it, so can you.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There’s never a smooth ride. Unfortunately some of us have to fight for what we want more than others. We don’t fit in, so we have to do the best we can to just be heard. Instead of taking only two steps, we have to take ten steps, and even though it might take us a while to get to the last step, we do it with hard work and dedication and we don’t give up. We know the struggles on the way, not being liked because of our religion or our color. Not being chosen because we aren’t tall enough, or pretty enough, or because we have curly hair. I have gotten so many no’s in my life because of the way I looked, or sounded, or because I had curly hair.

For the longest time, I hated who I was because of opinions of others, of thinking that if they say no then maybe just maybe we aren’t meant to be seen or be heard. But the more I grew up the more I taught myself self-love, that if I can love myself and the way I look than no one, I mean no one can tell me anything. I started taking no’s as “you need to work harder” prove them wrong, and the more I did that the more opportunities I got. Just like I said, it might take you longer than others but it’s all worth it at the end.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am known for my pranks. I come from an Arab family/background. I learned how to make others laugh by bringing our culture to them. Whether it’s telling my mother that I got a tattoo as a joke to I’m leaving the country and never coming back here. It’s all jokes and fun and it’s been something that has helped me become more happier, more funnier, and more loving. The more pranks I do, the more laughs I see and the more I love my culture even more.

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
Don’t ever give up on your dreams. Also, you never know who’s watching; always post post post your thoughts, your feelings, turn them into great content. Whether it’s with singing, acting, drawing. People are watching and people are listening!!!
