Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Arnaudin.
Hi Xavier, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Originally from France, after being graduated from my viticulture/oenology school in France, I decided to travel to make wine in different country and I ending up getting an internship with Joseph Davis at Arcadian wines in Central Coast California. after Working few years with Joe, a friend and I decided to make wine together and in 2014 we created Union Sacre Winery, a Winery dedicate to the Alsace region in France.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Not a smooth road at all, I had to fight every 3 years to get an extension on my visa, work wise it was smooth because I really like what I am doing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Making wine is a combination of few different elements but most likely, the farming, the cellar work. We are an Alsace house in Paso Robles, we are making very unusual wine as dry Sylvaner, dry Gewurztraminer, dry Pinot Blanc, dry Pinot Gris, dry Riesling dry Muscat, and few Orange Wines as Orange Gewurztraminer and Orange Riesling. We are known for are Gewurztraminer and Orange wines. I am very Proud of all my wines because they bring a smile on your face and new steal the conversation or the social moment.
My style of wines and the grape varieties we are making set us apart from the other 300 winery in Paso Robles.
WE are the only Alsatian house in Central Coast California by the fact we are making all the grapes varietal from Alsace.
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I am an introvert but because I have good social Skills no-one knows!
