Life & Work with Stella Aklian of Los Angeles Metropolitan Area

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stella Aklian.

Hi Stella, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My path to real estate was actually very organic. I started in media at just 15 years old as a journalist, and over the years I moved into PR and marketing, where I learned how to tell stories, build trust, and connect people with the right message. I was born in the U.S., raised in Armenia, and earned my Bachelor’s degree from Armenian-Russian Slavonic University, so I’ve always lived between cultures—and that taught me how to communicate with all kinds of people.

Later, my husband and I co-founded a media company, which gave me real entrepreneurial experience and deep connections within the community. I also spent several years in the beauty and medical aesthetics space, where I mastered sales, branding, and client relationships. But I realized something important: everything I loved doing—strategy, negotiation, marketing, and working closely with people—naturally pointed me toward real estate.

Real estate felt like the perfect place to bring all of that together. Today, I specialize in Greater Los Angeles and I use my background in media and marketing to give my clients a real advantage, whether they’re buying, selling, or investing.

I’m also a mom of two daughters, so I understand how important it is to make smart, secure decisions about your future and your home. Being fluent in Armenian, Russian, and English helps me serve a diverse community and make the process smooth and stress-free. For me, real estate isn’t just about transactions—it’s about relationships, trust, and helping people move into the next chapter of their lives with confidence.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Honestly, no—has anything truly great ever come from a completely smooth road? I don’t believe so. My journey definitely came with challenges, pivots, and moments where I had to step outside my comfort zone. But I’m genuinely thankful for every obstacle I faced, because each one shaped me into a stronger, smarter, and more resilient version of myself.

Those challenges taught me how to adapt, how to stay focused under pressure, and how to keep moving forward even when things weren’t easy or predictable. They also gave me a deeper understanding of what my clients go through when they’re making big life decisions. Today, I see those struggles not as setbacks, but as the foundation of my confidence, discipline, and problem-solving mindset.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a real estate professional serving the Greater Los Angeles area. I specialize in helping people buy, sell, and invest in real estate, with a strong focus on strategic marketing, smart pricing, and strong negotiation. Because of my background in media, PR, and marketing, I’m known for presenting properties in a way that truly stands out and attracts the right buyers—not just listing homes, but positioning them.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Many of them come from referrals and repeat business, and that means everything to me. I’m proud of building long-term relationships, not just closing deals. I guide my clients through what can be a stressful process and make it feel clear, organized, and confident

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I’m a big believer in learning from people who operate at a high level. My favorite podcast is The Diary of a CEO—I love how real and honest the conversations are about success, failure, mindset, and growth. It keeps me grounded and constantly thinking about how to improve, both professionally and personally.

In terms of books, Sell or Be Sold by Grant Cardone had a big impact on me. I also follow Tom Ferry a lot for real estate strategy, systems, and accountability—he’s great for staying sharp and focused in a fast-moving market. And Tony Robbins has been a huge influence on my mindset, discipline, and personal growth.
Together, these resources help me stay motivated, strategic, and always evolving
