Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaina Hook.

Hi Shaina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey started with a deep love for helping people feel like the best version of themselves, both inside & out. I’ve always been drawn to creativity & connection, so becoming a hairstylist felt like a natural fit. Over the years, I realized that my chair wasn’t just a place for hair transformations, it became a space for emotional healing, meaningful conversations, & self-discovery.

That realization inspired me to expand my work into energy healing, where I now offer Reiki & crystal healing alongside my styling services. My goal is to create an experience that helps clients feel seen, relaxed, & rebalanced. Not just polished on the outside, but aligned on the inside too.

It’s been a beautiful evolution of blending artistry & intuition. I’ve learned that true beauty is energy. It’s confidence, peace, & authenticity radiating from within. That’s what I love helping people reconnect with every day.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road, but every challenge has shaped me into who I am today. There were seasons of uncertainty, especially when I first decided to branch out on my own. Balancing creativity with the business side of things, learning to trust my intuition, & staying grounded through change were all major lessons.

There were moments of self-doubt, financial stress, & times when I wondered if I was on the right path. But every time I leaned back into my “why” — helping people feel beautiful, peaceful, & connected — things would realign.

Looking back, those hard seasons were really opportunities to grow in faith, patience, & self-belief. They taught me how to hold space not only for others, but for myself too. That’s been one of the most powerful parts of this journey.

My work is all about creating a space where beauty & energy meet. Being a hairstylist & Reiki practitioner, I specialize in helping my clients look & feel aligned, inside & out. Whether it’s a transformative haircut, color that enhances their natural glow, or a Reiki session that clears energetic blockages, my goal is always the same: to help people feel balanced, confident, & seen.

I’m most proud of the environment I’ve created. It’s calm, intentional, & heart-centered. My salon suite is carbon neutral & I exclusively use low-tox products & hair color, which means my clients can enjoy a luxurious experience that’s also gentle on their bodies & the planet. My clients often say that coming to my suite feels like a reset. They leave not only loving their hair, but also feeling lighter & more connected to themselves.

What sets me apart is the holistic approach I bring to beauty. I truly believe our energy shows up in everything, including how we wear our hair. By blending intuitive healing with creative artistry, I help people embody the version of themselves they’ve been growing into. It’s not just about a style; it’s about alignment, authenticity, & self-expression.

What matters most to me is authenticity. Living & creating from a place that feels true, grounded, & aligned. Whether I’m behind the chair, offering energy healing, or showing up in my personal life, I believe everything flows better when it’s rooted in genuine connection & intention.

I care deeply about helping people reconnect to their own sense of beauty and wholeness. Not the version the world tells them they “should” be, but the one that feels most like them. That’s why I focus on low-tox, sustainable practices & energy work — it’s all part of honoring the whole person & the world we share.

At the end of the day, I just want to create more peace, balance, & authenticity — for myself, my clients, & my community.
