Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Wood
Hi Sarah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Easy Living emerged from my own journey through motherhood and my earlier career as an administrative assistant supporting high-level executives. In my corporate role, I saw how strategic support allowed leaders to focus on what mattered most, while at home, I experienced firsthand the overwhelming mental load that so many women carry. I saw a profound disconnect: in the workplace, we recognize that executives need administrative support to perform at their best, yet at home, women are expected to be the CEO, COO, and office manager all at once. This disparity isn’t just about convenience – it’s about justice and wellbeing. Women’s disproportionate share of home management and mental load often comes at the cost of their careers, mental health, and personal fulfillment.
Easy Living was born from my determination to change this dynamic, offering women the same level of strategic support at home that executives receive at work, because everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive both personally and professionally.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like many entrepreneurs, I carried this idea with me for years before taking the leap. While I’m in the early stages of this business, one of the most significant challenges I’ve encountered isn’t operational – it’s cultural.
Women are often conditioned to handle everything themselves, to push through exhaustion, and to put everyone else’s needs first. There’s a deep hesitation to invest in support for themselves, even when they’re struggling under the weight of managing it all. The challenge has been helping women recognize that investing in home management support isn’t a luxury or an indulgence – it’s a strategic decision that can profoundly impact their wellbeing, their relationships, and their ability to pursue their own goals and dreams. When women are constantly operating in survival mode, managing endless to-do lists and carrying the household’s mental load, they can’t truly thrive.
Breaking through this mindset barrier and helping women see that they deserve support, just as much as any executive does, has been both our biggest challenge and our most important mission.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
What sets Easy Living apart is that we don’t just offer task support – we provide a comprehensive solution to the invisible burden of home management that so many women carry. People come to us when they’re overwhelmed by what’s called the ‘mental load’ – that constant mental inventory of schedules, appointments, household needs, and family care. We specialize in both immediate relief and long-term transformation. This means we’ll handle the practical tasks like calendar management, appointment scheduling, and household organization, but we also work alongside our clients to create sustainable systems that actually stick.
Our approach is unique because we combine virtual administrative support, in-home hands-on help, and strategic coaching. We’re not just a cleaning service, not just a virtual assistant, and not just a life coach – we’re a partner in transforming how your household runs.
What truly distinguishes us is our understanding that this work isn’t just about checking tasks off a list; it’s about freeing up mental space so women can focus on what truly matters to them.
We’re deeply committed to helping women reclaim their time and energy, whether that’s for their career, their relationships, their personal goals, or simply for rest and renewal.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I believe luck has played a role in the sense that I’ve been fortunate to have experiences that prepared me perfectly for this work – from my early career in administrative support where I learned the power of strategic systems, to my personal journey through motherhood where I experienced firsthand the challenges many women face.
I’ve also been lucky to have people in my life who encouraged me to pursue this vision, even when it was just an idea.
But I think what some might call luck is often about being prepared to recognize and act on opportunities. The real fortune has been in timing – launching this business at a moment when there’s growing recognition of women’s mental load and its impact on their lives. But it’s not just luck that helped me identify this need; it was years of observing, experiencing, and understanding the profound way that home management responsibilities affect women’s wellbeing and potential.
